I've bought a Temple of Elemental Evil boxed copy for 1E, a Tales of Monkey Island for 4E and a Spellforce Universe for 2E. I'd say I had my share of luck!
Awesome discussion!
Let's see...

Years ago I found 'Pandora's Box' for $2.
Around the same time, I found 'Mechcommander 2' (big box, complete) for about $8, I think.

A few years ago I found for $3 'The Movies: Special Edition' complete with the bonus disc.
To my surprise it also had the expansion 'The movies: Stunts & Effects' along with the manual tucked inside as a bonus :D

tinyE: That's where my parents found me.

Randalator: I believe he was talking about treasures.

I once found a pristine boxed copy of System Shock 2 in a bargain bin for 2.5 EUR.
I said they found me in the discount bin, I never said I was supposed to be in there! :P I think someone chucked me in there when they couldn't find a trash receptacle. :D Their loss; I'm way more fun to be around than most other garbage.

On a serious note, I once nailed a shit load of nice NES titles in a bargain barge but for some reason I never really played them that much. What a shame.

Among all the other Chinese second grade tinyEs?

Sorry, I couldn't help myself... :P

Speaking of Nintendo, that reminds me. About 6 years ago I found an N64 for about $20 and the games: Perfect Dark, Banjo Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Golden Eye for $2 a piece. Sadly Golden Eye was busted but I was able to return it. Had to hunt down 2 controllers and memory expansion afterwards but It was worth it!

Last year I was going thru gameshop's discount bin and found only one used NOLF1 in very good condition.
Paid only ~5€ for it. :)
While not an old treasure, my favourite find at a thrift store was a Logitech Extreme 3D flight stick for I think $4. I use it all the time, works really well for TIE-Fighter and Descent. :)

I don't usually find a lot of games, but I did find a few good ones like Journeyman Project 2 and Alien Legacy.

Winner.
Software is one thing especially in this age of digital distribution, but you can't download a flight stick, especially a nice (albeit older) one like that.

Very nice find. Color me impressed.
There have been some....things I wish I could find in a bargain bin.
Here's another one:
A few years ago I found a CD of Albion for about $5.
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/albion

Music in the game is midi, which sounds awful on many of today's PCs (thank you Microsoft for neglecting midi support over the years...). I installed Timidity++ with some Roland soundfont. Much better! :)
(not an MT-32 soundfont but as close as I could get).

Ah, nice, I've always wanted to try that game, but I can't find it anywhere.
Also, I used to love Timidity++ with Ultrasound patches, I but I've since found VirtualMIDIsynth to be easier to work with. Particuallrly fond of the FluidR3 and Chorium soundfonts.
I loved to go diving in those bargain bins. I guess the best one I found was Bioshock for 5€, but I also found Supreme Commander. And one of my favorite games I found on a bargain bin for less than one dollar: Robot Arena 2. It was a fun little game, I wish GoG would have it.
I haven't bought a boxed game in a very long time but back in the day I found Trickstyle in the discount bin and Temple of elemental evil

Thanks, sadly I only found it once in the wild, just CD no cover art/manual or box. At least the CD is in good condition. The only other place I saw a few for sale was on Amazon, it used to be about $5 plus shipping, around the time of the XBox One announcement. Though last I checked it was going for much more.

Ultrasound is good too. VirtualMIDIsynth eh? I'll keep that in mind.

Also an insane find was 'The Neverhood' (with CD cover art and manual) for $3. It was a few months ago, I was shocked since the last time I saw one was years ago and for $40.

I love finding hidden gems.

A complete Gamecube with one copy of Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes! Yes!

A perfect copy of Max Payne 2 $10

Grand Theft Auto 3 $10

Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid 4 Guide with limited edition lithograph!

MechWarrior 4 $10

American Mcgee's Alice! Joy!

Bloodbowl, Company of Heroes, Mirror's Edge, Civilization 4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R! It was like Christmas. (Note to self, I should have bought Company of Heroes aswell.)

Grim Fandango! Wow!

GoG is like one big bargain bin. (In the best way possible.)
