Hello, so i have been plying the game for a while and one day decided to download the free DLC's in order to do that i had to update.So i did i did it from GoG Galaxy client i downloaded every update file that can be found but for some reason when i run it it doesnt work it says insert cd1 and all but i did them already it also says' patch_witcher3_1.01-1.10_2.0.0.40 is not there'' when it clearly is please help

Look more closely. You are missing a file.

patch_witcher3_1.01-1.10_2.0.0.40.exe is there. So are patch_witcher3_1.01-1.10_2.0.0.40-2.bin and patch_witcher3_1.01-1.10_2.0.0.40-3.bin. But where is patch_witcher3_1.01-1.10_2.0.0.40-1.bin?

You can find the patch files in your account on the website. See the attached screenshot.

Make sure to select the language you are using in the game.

Of course you can also update your game via Galaxy Client (it will do a differential patch so less will be downloaded), just import it and update.

Johny.: You can find the patch files in your account on the website. See the attached screenshot.

Make sure to select the language you are using in the game.

Of course you can also update your game via Galaxy Client (it will do a differential patch so less will be downloaded), just import it and update.

That's because the version 1.10 is ancient by now. The only way to get patches that are so old that they are not on the website anymore is to contact support.

But you should only do so if you have a very good reason to play 1.10 like problems with later versions since newer versions tend to fix a lot of bugs. The latest version is 1.31 and since there is no patch from 1.01 to 1.31 you will need to download the whole installer from scratch.

I've tested and waited numerous times for at least an hour each time for the 10GB update wheneveri reinstall the game and each time, I can't locate the 10GB files I've been downloaded, no matter where I point/direct the download folder location storage. By now, I've been sitting in front of my pc for over 5hr, waiting for the download sequences to finish and when it did, I was then told "incorrect disk inserted" or "insert the correct disk" the restarts the 10GB download again.... Just wow GOG... I'm totally speechless. I love the game but this whole infinity process of downloads makes me want to abandoned this game for a while, even though I've paid for the DLCs and haven't even started them...

While your response is understandable,
considering your paying costumer bok_choy_tang has spend that much time and effort already,
And he clearly stated earlier he only needs one specific file, I would advise sharing it with him without forcing extra work.
After this,
you may obliviously ask for further information and I'm sure he'll gladly comply - but first do your best to provide the easiest fix.

Hi There

The version of GOG Galaxy client I have at the moment is 1.1.20 (beta).

Here are the steps I've been going through to install and update the game:
1. Install game through physical DVD.
2. Tried to install update via the downloaded updates from GOG Galaxy client (v 1.1.20) but unable to due to one missing file (as mentioned in my comment above).
3. Run update via Galaxy Client, which requires 10GB - the 10GB downloaded file however can never be found so any fresh install I've done on the game will then force me the 10GB updates. Reason for fresh install - Windows 10 Anniversay updates haven't been great. I have been doing multiple system installation whenever the OS encountered error that can't be fixed.
4. Once the version of the game has been updated from the 10GB download (1.02 - 1.31), I then install the DLCs from downloaded files via the GOG Galaxy client (16 freebies, HoS & BW).

The problem that I have at the moment is unable to update the game offline whenever I perform a fresh install. So far, the downloads has chewed up more than 50gb of my quota this month hence I've lost hope and i'm abandoning this game unless you can advice or direct me where I can download the 10GB update and save it PERMANENTLY, without it disappearing into thin air just like the GOG Galaxy Client did.

Hello

The 1.01 to 1.10 patch is no longer available for download. I can only apologize for the inconvenience and advise you to download the updated installer for the game (setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_2.0.0.52), it is in the current version (1.31) and does not require further updates. The offline installers for the DLCs are also updated to the current version. After downloading all these installers can be stored for future use.

You have three download options for the offline installers:
1) Downloading the installation files with Galaxy. Installation files use a different delivery method, and are usually smaller than the files downloaded during "installation". To do this, find the game in your Library in GOG Galaxy, and click MORE > Backups & goodies, then click the appropriate Game Installer,
2) Using the GOG Downloader. You can find it here: https://www.gog.com/downloader . Once downloaded and installed, please find your game on gog.com in your library, and click MORE > GOG DOWNLOADER LINKS,
3) Downloading with your browser - this isn't very recommended, as it offers no pausing/resuming, and no error protection.
