I really dont like gogs client and the application helper is always taking up resources.. How do I play Witcher 3 without it on? They say you can do it but I dont see how..
click start, programs, gog games, choose the game you want. No idea about witcher 3 but works with every other game. :D
There should be an exe file in the Witcher 3 directory. Start it and the game should run.
I have the same question. I don't see a way to start Witcher 3 offline. I remember reading something about people who pre-ordered (which i did) not having that ability. So how do i find out.

I go to LocalDisk > GOG Games > Witcher 3 and there's no exe file anywhere. I ran a search on my computer and nothing came up. What am I doing wrong?

And there it is. Thank you!
Found it. The starter file is nested, right click to make a short-cut.

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\bin\x64\witcher3

I think I remember hearing about an option somewhere in Galaxy (which I've never used, so I'm not sure about this) to add a desktop shortcut when installing a game.
Of course, you could just download the standalone installer via your browser and install from that, and it will add a desktop icon by default. :)

ok, this is intolerable! I have tried the pathway this post describes but my problem may just be odd. I am trying to play Fire watch. I bought it from GOG.com, used their galaxy platform and when the game was installed through that, it came on to the first screen, giving me the option to choose a new game, i go to choose the new game, click on slot one the screen then just goes black and stays that way! Nothing more come up. I have installed the offline options, used this tread like i said to get the files another way and its the exact same issue! What in the world am i doing wrong here?!

Many thanks for reading..
If you don't like the client why did you install it? Just uninstall it.

This worked! I used the download option in #4. Thanks so much for taking the time to me out! Hope you have a nice rest of the day!
Deleted, why this duplicated post appeared on a different thread amazes me...

For the future, know you can use Galaxy as a downloader. Just download the offline installer you want and then close Galaxy. Run the installer as normal. Or even install through Galaxy and then close it, and play the game. Whichever works best for you.

Galaxy can be pretty useful for games constantly and still getting updates - namely, for new titles still getting DLC's, updates/patches, expansions, etc etc. Games still in their really active cycle and all.

I usually grab the download installers and/or patches when they've likely done most of the patching that they've already needed to do; and/or if the game's really old and likely not going to get 50,000 more updates.
