I've never understood why people mock low prices.

Low prices make it possible for people with lower incomes to buy games.

If you want to support a studio more, you buy multiple copies of the game and give the keys away generously, or if you're not feeling generous, you just let the keys sit idle.

Oh thats true and fair:)
Im not rich myself and almsot always only afford to buy on discounts.
But with the amount of rubbish and dev scams, unfinished products and early access abandonware, its really nice to see quality games without political influence or agendas or clickbait to release that we can really enjoy.
The amount of money ive wasted of broken games or lazy work compared to a game like HK, u really want to support that attitude u know and pay the amount that many of these other aaa games take for theirs in a much worse state.

But I get u, games should be affordable for all, I just think 20 dollars for games like these is ilttle when u compare it:)

I alr bought HK twice, and will buy sountrack/supportor packs where posible and when I can afford it to support products I really appreciate.

Buddy, I didn't mean to attack you, please don't misunderstand. The thought just crossed my mind. Maybe I should have added a smiley face. :-D

Otherwise, I agree with you, and I understand what you're saying.

Me too can not really understand this view: Because are you only handing out more money if someone is "forcing" it from you? If you got to much coins why not just buying 10 keys and giving away 9 of them in a certain way? A lot of people will feel joy and you even paid 10 times more.

I find it is okay having a "affordable price" for a game, so even more gamers are able to get it and those who got "to much" could feel generous toward those who got to less.

If/when I buy Silksong, I'm going to buy the version with the soundtrack, not for supporting the developers, but because the soundtrack really is that good.

(Prediction: The Silksong OST will have multiple variations of Hornet's theme from the original Hollow Knight.)
1 day left... :)
I just checked Silksong forum over there and it made feel really good to be a Gog user.
What makes this "one of the most anticipated indie games of recent years", deserving its own countdown, instead of just another metroidvania?

Hollow Knight was a particularly well-liked game in the genre. I'm pretty sure it influenced other Metroidvanias (and not always for the better).

Silksong was announced something like 6 years ago. As the follow-up to a successful game, it was, of course, highly anticipated.

It was also delayed many times. So, after all of these delays, the game has become highly anticipated, in a way that a generic Metroidvania (usually by some company that hasn't made one before, and therefore has no reputation) does not.

Hence, the countdown.

It's a sequel to a masterpiece.

Hmm, checked HK reviews at a couple places and most seem to be raving mad about how incredible/awesome/genre defining/-insert superlative- etc. it is....

Not really an enthusiast of this genre as most of the games feel largely the same, but might have to make HK my metroidvania of choice for 2026 (I play a maximum of 1 per year to avoid getting bored), to see what all the hype is about.
