It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

jepsen1977: I used to be able to use this fix (since GOG apparently don't want to fix it) but recently in Chrome I can no longer find the "console" section to paste the line into when hitting F12.. For anyone using Chrome: where the heck do I paste it now?
F12 - Console Tab - the line above "Console. What's new" - Paste the code from OP.

It's still works, but would be a lot better if people responsible for this forum could finally fix it.

Thanks, finally found the console tab and it worked removing the dot from hell.

PS: If you really are from Ukraine then best of luck and godspeed in the future and try to stay safe.

kbnrylaec: The bug exists about 1 month, and GOG never fix it.
LOL

Had to do it again. It worked again. Lol at the GOG forum webcode.
Ahh, how I envy the people for whom this trick still works :(

It used to help me too a year or so ago, but now it just comes back within minutes every time I try...
Still works fine for me, in either Opera or Palemoon...
Doing a test. Running the command at 1:39 AM my time. Let's see how long before the dot returns.

EDIT:
Already back xD, not even a minute.

Am I missing something? How do you even subscribe to forum reply notifications? I don't see any such options.

There'll be a purple dot show in the navigation bar due to me replying to this. If you would go to community => forum replies, before seeing this reply, this thread would also show up there.

It used to be - in a long forgotten past which is now only spoken of in hushed whispers at the bi-annual meeting for controversial legends and myths - that when you viewed the post which triggered the reply-notification, that the purple dot would go away. Alas, this is no longer the case, for all must worship the purple dot, and only the most arcane incantations can temporarily blind us to its magnificence.
Thanks for this topic. It solved my problem. I am using Chrome and I don't have any script installed. Just F12, copied the code, and the dot is gone.

EDIT: It's back. Looks like it comes back every time I restart the browser.

Welcome to the cult. All unbelievers shall eventually embrace the magnificence that is the purple dot.

No, it comes back every time someone replies to you.

P.S.: Welcome back to the cult of the purple dot. ;-)
YAY! I always wanted to join a cult. I'll bring my own purple hood.

That makes sense. All hail the might of the Cult of Purple Replies.

Still working in Waterfox Classic, thanks so much for pointing this out. Not having to wait for a PM to get rid of the accursed dot sure is nice.
Could a blue or a moderator please sticky this thread? Until the bug gets fixed this thread is really essential to using the forum.
