For all what I have heard about Hellgate London on Steam it seems to be a modded version that is totally bullcrap compared with the original game that came out on disk back in 2007.

Not quite, KoA was a bit more fluid action combat. Hellgate felt janky and more like 3rd person Diablo click em to death. Hellgate had 3-4 unique tile sets which repeat over and over, all bland greyish ones. Enemies were pretty naff too.
KoA on the other hand was more action orientated, colourful and had more content. It did however get repetitive and boring some hours in as it totally ran out of ideas and depth.
I would consider buying KoA if it was released here, but I wouldn't bother with hellgate.

Yep, I really am not a fan of witcher 2/3, but even I would struggle to find any part of hellgate which is subjectively better than witcher 3.
