Hellgate London is coming back to Steam November 15th.

Seems to be returning as single-player. I have always wanted to play some of these MMOs as a single-player thing instead of relying on others.

Too bad that GOG did not get their hands on this.
Yay.
Have played the game but never the add-on. Liked the game very much, though it isn't very open area in this game and the stages get sameish.
It's dead boring and repetitive, think mmo without other characters.
I love this game, I bought it when it came out, and played it online until it shutdown.

Then I played it again when it was ressurected the first time.

I'm excited for this, because, well, actually, real Hellgate hasn't ever been tried.

I'm buying it again.
Definitely a classic which should be added to this site.
I hope that it becomes a tradition for MMOs to be converted into SP-oriented games after retirement. Might pick up a copy of Hellgate, depending on reviews.
We need it on GOG. MP features seems completely removed. Also price is pretty cheap. Awesome opportunity
Hellgate is a terrible game and was never an MMO, even though it's often falsely called that and was also falsely advertised as such at the time it was originally released and flopped hard for good reason (one of which was that it was not actually an MMO but they called it one anyway).

I'm not sure what's up with all the revisionist history hype that misrepresents it as a good game, or one that is worth buying now.

I remember the game being kind of boring before I lost my copy. So are there any new changes or is it just the same Hellgate London that was released many years ago?

Maybe because "it's not an MMO" is not "good reason".

It's the lastest version of Hellgate Global (the Korean F2P version) with multiplayer and the cash shop stripped out - as such there are some additional areas (Stonehenge, Abyss and Tokyo (to be added in an upcoming patch)), items etc... but if you didn't find it interesting before you won't now.

If it has multiplayer, then worth it.

No multiplayer - I meant the multiplayer and the microtransactions have been removed from the game (all premium MTX items can be bought with the in-game currency drops) - purely (at the moment - I'd say unlikely to change) single player only.

I was just glancing through the link provided in the opening post and saw the following response

"...Well, even as buggy as it is, HGL is roughly 10345% better than all witcher games combined so ..."

wow... i just ...wow... in what kind of plane of existence do you have to be to come to that conclusion?

Read the reviews here:

I payed the original HGL... If someone has a way to [SHIFT]+[DELETE] memories without killing yourself, please contact me.
