Seems there is a trend to go from digital back to table. Dragon Age boardgame, the rumour about a witcher card- or boardgame and now Blizzards WarCraft cardgame.

This is precisely what I love Blizzard for: they follow through with whatever wacky idea pops into their heads, just to see what happens :D.
Completely out of left field, I kept checking if it's April's Fools but it's not...

Could be fun I guess. Depends on how hard they push the pay to win aspect. Given Blizzard of recent years, I expect it's going to end up as a way to endlessly fleece their overly loyal fans, but I hope I'm proven wrong.

Is it possible to get a beta key for this game somehow other than waiting for the Blizzard gods to grant you a beta access in the far future?

Not for us probably, from what I'm seeing the keys going out are all for the US at the moment, no EU beta.

Has anyone else got a beta key? I've only played for a bit. Seems fun but also seems like a lot of work to get any gold (as opposed to spending real money).

I realise now I don't have a lot of inclination to play games that don't have some goal at the end...

So is this now in open beta? Why did I get a key for it?

It hasn't gone open yet, I don't think. Just sometime this month.

I am anxiously awaiting it, had to go through some hoops to even get a shot at the beta.

I got a key like 2 hours ago. And I'm not sure what's more surprising - the fact that I finally got a beta key or that the game works through Wine.

Not as fun as I'd hoped it'd be. It isn't bad, but doesn't come close to matching something like MtG.

I miss MtG, but I'm not going back down that hole.

I pretty much lost all interest in anything Blizzard released after Diablo 2 and LOD.

And then a card game? I wouldn't bother even if it was for free and without DRM.
