It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

False alarm.

Edit: Since direct linking doesn't work, I have also attached a screenshot with the relevant post.

Thanks. Thread has since been deleted.
I see Grargar already linked to the post I made earlier, so that part has been taken care of.
It's possible that the reddit poster had not noticed that they were listed under "Game Goodies" at some point.

As for support's reply, it's possible that we're seeing an overly eager to promote Galaxy GOG staffer, or the GOG employ takes it for granted that everyone and their cat are using Galaxy, or they have instructions to promote the use of Galaxy.
Whatever the case, they should have stated that downloading is very much possible via the browser, and omitting it does make a bad impression.

On a side note - the DLC downloads are mislabelled on the GOG Downloader page.

This one works just fine for me.

Edit: Leaving enough space after the first part of my post, does not.

Tried both with Chrome and Palemoon and the forum software acts like I linked it to the page 459.

I assume you're on the 20posts/ page setting. Try the 50posts/ page, that's my setting and it links correctly.

Something got seriously broken a while back, and links are hit and miss most of the time, and seem to depend on what setting is used. Not sure if the setting the poster was using when they made the post is also a factor.

It indeed seems to link correctly in the 50 posts/page setting. Having said that, I have almost exclusively noticed this behaviour on two threads; "The What Did Just Update" and the "Gaming Deals" (can't remember having noticed it anywhere else, but there is always the possibility that I just forgot).

Do the regulars feel that it's only a matter of time until it's Galaxy only?

No.

I've also noticed it in the following threads: "Trading", "Bitch about life", "Known scammers", and "GOG Gifting".

We had a discussion about this issue a while back in the "What did just break" thread, starting here.

*crosses fingers it links correctly*

Sadly yes...

There's definitely a very strong push for it, but as long as it also supports downloading standalone installers, updates/ patches and extras, these will also be available on the site for downloading via the browser (or a third-party/ community downloader). If and when this changes, then yes, it will be Galaxy only, and game over for a number of us.
They might just make life as difficulty as possible without the client.
And add the client to every installer by default, still technically optional but only if you go through every option.

That's a good point. At least that would mean I'm safe as long as they don't have a Linux client, that they have to support the website in the meantime. Although I think the website is crap.
