I wonder how many good games aren't here because doesn't think there's enough interest in them to bother paying all the lawyers.

A game needs a few things usually. Energy, quality, soul/gamer appeal. Does this game really shine in any of those categories?

grimwerk: You often appear to explain a game's history. It's super interesting. Thanks.
A bit of a hobby of mine. Especially with the games and the companies that i had/have a great interest.

Dungeon Lords (the original and the CE) was made by D.W. Bradley. So a lot of people watched its development and wanted the game to succeed. Unfortunately, what we've got was a mess.

To be honest, i had a bit of fun with the CE version. And that's the version that i actually finished two times and i'd like to see it on GOG. The MMXII version was another mess, that had only a patch and a lot of rage from people, as no one tried to patch it in a proper manner. The Steam Edition, well, Nordic claims that it's an enhanced edition of MMXII, but they seem to be very shy in posting what exactly was reworked, fixed, remade, added, etc. Which usually happens only when you have something to hide.
All I've heard Dungeon Lords is that it's a really, really terrible game which is unfinished and broken despite the many re-releases it has had.

Looger23: And W&W... a combat-heavy game with a totally crappy combat system, loads of bugs both technical and logical including plot stoppers etc.
Disagree, combat system just took some getting used to, bugs on the other hand...

Looger23: - nope, not every bad game is a "flawed classic", some games are just bad.
Never stated, never implied.

Mobeeuz: MegalomaniacNG stated the following:
"We would have loved to release Dungeon Lords on GoG - however - GoG decided to not support this title on their platform."

Do I even need to write the word "Why"? This is completely a classic, needs to be here.
we STILL need this, and it needs to be the CE version, not the pile of steaming crap called STEAM version.

Do we? From what I remember this game gets a new "updated" version every couple of years, so why wouldn't the STEAM version, which I assume is the latest, be the preferable one?

By the way, I didn't realize the IP was owned by THQ Nordic. I guess there's hope for a GOG release when they do a "remastered version".
Have played the Original, the CE, and the Steam version. CE is by far the superior version. Please bring to GOG!
Well, since this thread was dug up by someone else...

Yes! Would love to get this game on GOG. Hate that I have to load up Steam to play it.

If it's CE, all the better!

Wow, for once GOG curation is doing something right, considering that Dungeon Lords is one of the worst RPGs ever made.

Come on, it’s not that bad. Try Cyberpunk for an hour and you will realise nothing is that bad!

There are many reasons to think a game is bad, but to think a game is bad simply because it's broken is like saying that someone who is poor is a piece of sh!t because of it. The game itself; what it stood up trying to do, what it brought to the table that was/is standing the test of time as being unique, what it did differently.. that is what makes a game worth someone's time. This game may have had it's problems.. and plenty of them. Though lets not forget where it succeeded. A class system tied together with 5 different forms of magic & specialties to make one's character truly unique, catering to the player's style of play. Each magic having it's own select type of fuel source for spells as to not interfere with one another. Nether Katal being a sort of alchemy never seen before in games before or since (as far as i'm aware) allowing for the mixing of components to create spells for later use, from everything to summons to damaging spells. One of a kind dynamics here, honestly just needed to wade through some atrociously murky waters of that treacherous sewer that ended up being the state of coding to bring it all together.. if you could do that you'd see what a gem it was, a diamond in the rough due to developers which couldn't even see what they had, if only to clean it up and perfect it, none of which happening was their flaw; in turn the game's downfall sadly enough. There was depth in this game's skill/class system I still have only seen dabbled with by comparison a few times at most since back then..

Some of the most ambitious games have been swept under the rug for the stupidest reasons..
Phantom Dust [Xbox] {merely unheard of when in reality the story and skill system is quite advanced for it's time especially}
The Crossing [UNKNOWN] {Never finished development due to developer bankruptcy, game featured cross-player, a revolutionary system where players would experience other players as NPCs, getting missions from them as well as being hired to kill them, all the while being unaware of when they're dealing with an NPC or player because of animations being filtered to look like that of NPCs movement's etc.. }
Phantasy Star Online Ep 1&2 [Gamecube] {Required a monthly fee to play any version other than GC release, preventing further exposure}
City of Heroes [PC] {Went free to play and shortly thereafter the servers were shut down and game went extinct}
Star Citizen [PC] {Requires basically a super computer to run so only the wealthy are even allowed to enjoy it's potential for magnificence}

The list could go on...

Lastly.. I'm not trying to rip on you, merely pointing out that there are countless aspects to consider when forming an opinion on something as potentially immersive as a game. All the while we're each allowed our own opinion, that being said; this is my own.
