Lifthrasil: nmillar still didn't reply to my other question. He just attacked the misunderstanding - that was the easy route. But he didn't provide any other input. I still would like to lynch him because I think that is a possible sign of scumminess.
Sorry, what was the question?

I'd be happy for voting Lifthrasil or GH at this stage. Lift for what appears to be deliberately twisting my words when I was attempting to support a newcomer to the game, and GH for starting the game in a completely different way from his normal play style.

Lifthrasil: Because it denies us information
We still get the same amount of information. Only instead of this getting it this week, we get it the next.
While it's not extremely useful, it doesn't "hurt us" either.

You partially answered in in this post concerning me and GH. It was:

avatar
Lifthrasil: So far, you only have stated one suspicion against ZFR based on the fact that he didn't get any votes so far. Anything else? Anything that you notice about your main suspect ZFR or about any other player?

It extends the D1 misery. So yes, it does hurt us. When we have something to work on, a NL will hurt less. I don't like the D1 flying blind mess and I dislike any attempt to prolong it.

In this regard, I 100% agree with you (as with the other 'safety net' point you made).

I'm just talking about it giving us less/more info. It does neither. We get exactly the same amount of lynches to analyse, the same amount of wagons to analyse, the same amount of info from all sources.

ZFR: Sorry, I was under the impression he just came back after missing many games like Bookwyrm, whom I gave newbie protectin too, but I see he played as recently as #70. And I did do a rearead of recent games..

Wow, blotunga, you're a very unmemorable character ;)

No newbie proterction for blotunga.
There weren't many games after 70 it seems :). I think Book was also in on that one.

Anyway a quick summary of what I have gathered so far.
I think a NL brings us tomorrow back to square 1, except one of us less.
So I lean to town-read ZFR, Book and Pooka for that for now.

I was thinking about voting for Lift as he had a weak start in the game imho which is atypical, but going with my guts here. I can't exactly specify which post makes me uneasy, but there is something in GH's style this time that rubs me wrong.

unvote Bookwyrm

vote GH
What?

Nah, the last game Book played in waas #60; the one where he didn't coach his scumbuddy.
avatar
GymHenson: So then, if I may ask(as am curious): if no better suspects came along/no one got higher wagon, would you join the bookwyrm wagon if needed to get a lynch through?
Yes, I would lynch bookwyrm, though I don't think he is particularly scummy enough to get a lynch on a normal day.

avatar
Microfish_1: If I understand, you are directly contradicting your own #73? or am I misunderstanding? In 73 are you advocating for or against NL?
In #73 I'm against NL and in #227 I'm against NL.

Microfish_1: I don't know that I could ever go along knowingly reads from those who I'm sure are fake-scumhunting, unless it was looking at "who are they protecting" Zeogold wiped the floor with us in a game of discord-based SH. I was a F, and he a L. I decided for good or ill that he was the most dangerous opponent and argued myhead off against him, and when that didn't work proceeded to toss wild accusations and speculations against everyone...except my teammates. I maybe succeeded in "muting" him, but in the process Zeogold realized that I was a barometer for who was F--"if I wasn't attacking them hard enough, they were my teammate or some such".
Ah yes, the "Castle in the Sky." What a fun game that was!
OK. 8:30 hours to go. GH is at L-2. Time to give him time to claim. Pleas, no one put him at L-1 yet! We discussed this at the beginning of the game. We don't want to give scum a chance to 'accidentally' quickhammer someone before a potential innocent child had time to claim.

@GH: for this reason, L-2 is the new L-1, as far as claims are concerned. Do you have to claim something?
avatar
ZFR: Nah, the last game Book played in waas #60; the one where he didn't coach his scumbuddy.
There were games more frequently last year so it's a blur, I'm too lazy to check but probably you are right.
Note to all: I am aware I am close to lynch, and will address that at the end of my replies....I ask everyone to be patient until i'm done with replying....TIA

Microfish_1: I have thought it over carefully. I hope. GH often has a certain level of GH-i-ness that mitigates a slight amount of his weirdness this game. I also know full well that he has hidden behind it in the past. So while I am willing right now to give him a pass this time around, I however, do not mean that I'll continue to give him a pass for it later on if he keeps it up.

I will revert to my preferred candidate from the mess that was my thoughts earlier, and will go for Lift as who I think is playing the scummiest. I will be willing to switch to GH if need be to avoid NL, but I don't want to yet, if only because of his RPing. It makes the game more fun.
On being willing to give me a pass for D1, but not later on: fair enough

Also thanks for saying you like my RPing...such things make the game all the more fun(and also make me want to keep playing, despite IRL and whatnot).

Microfish_1: Rogers scowled at his screwdriver, which was supposed to be magnetic--Perhaps it had been demagnetized when he had that run-in with the Ent. It wasn't his fault that he thought the sleeping Ent was a tree and tried to hang a sign on Mr. Ent.
He pulls out the strange chart which had floated out of...well, nowhere. One minute it had not been there and now it was. the scroll was covered with strange lettering, talking something about NLs vs Ls, sleep vs no-sleep, and other forgeign-to-him concepts. Ah well. Maybe one of the elves would help him to figure out the parchment.
Mr GH, nearly done with his smoke, hears new sounds beyond his cabin.....it seems to be coming from the same direction as the earlier talking, but seems somehow different.

"I wonder what that could be? Oh well, best to focus on more important(atm) matters for now, I think....like the other voices mentioning my name and whatnot that are coming from the opposite direction"

ZFR: They weren't reasons. At. All.
Then my mistake, as imo you seemedto be suspecting me(at least in part) due to those reasons(lack of RP and hello post).

avatar
ZFR: I just mentioned them in parantheses to contrast with what you did this game. The reason I voted you was your reaction to Bookwyrm's RVS and the excuses you made about it later.
As I said, "me being me" often leads to such.

i.e. In cases of more complex thoughts/suspicions that delve into the more complex game aspects/mechanics/etc, I often have a general idea of my thought/suspicion, but sometimes don't know how to state such...so I sometimes "wing it" and try my best.....leading to things like that exchange we had earlier re: bookwyrm's post.

I try to improve as best I can with this, of course(with things like some more note taking when I remember to do so) but some things(like memory issues) are likely near impossible to improve upon.

avatar
ZFR: It takes lots of wilful misinterpretation to twist it into "Well they did focus on me for several)3-5, iirc) posts several pages back, with flimsy reasoning like the fact that I didn't start with a hello type post this game & also the fact I didn't roleplay much this game"
Well you did focus on me for several posts awhile back....albeit not with the "flimsy reasoning" I was talking about. To me that seemed a bit odd.

That said(and as you can see): I should've been more clear that those things I listed were more things that appeared to me to be part of your reasoning, that they seemed off/flimsy to me, and that you had other reasons.
(this sort of error on my part is also partly why I will likely be a perpetual newbie in these games)

avatar
ZFR: Twisiting someone's reasoning is very scummy. Vote stays.
Fair enough
