The Setting: the NRA-leaders annual conference

Pacifists have infiltrated the NRA and are trying to disarm everyone! During the coffee-breaks, they go around and steal guns and of course someone who doesn’t have his guns anymore isn’t a Real Man (™) anymore either. Therefore the poor theft-victims have to leave the conference in shame. During the common breakfast that happened to Harold “Bookwyrm” Volkmer. When the first session started, it was discovered that he was entirely unarmed. He protested, that his guns had been stolen. But of course someone who can’t even protect his own guns can’t be trusted with protecting the guns of every lawful citizen either! Thus, Harold “Bookwyrm” Volkmer was excluded from the conference - and that could happen to anyone, as long as those Pacifists are around!

But there is hope: Pacifists of course would never use real guns! So when everyone is waving their guns around proudly, they only wave around some devious props! So all you have to do is find those without real guns and throw them out. Unfortunately, no Real Man (™) would voluntarily let anyone else touch his gun. So you’ll need to ‘convince’ suspect people to let you test their guns by threatening them with lots of your guns. When the majority of you has trained their gun on a suspect, they will have to submit to some interrogation. After all, the only defense against a fake gun is lots of real guns! But of course anyone who has had his gun fingered by other men will leave the conference in righteous outrage after such treatment. So be careful whom you accuse, lest the Pacifists outnumber you eventually. Then they would be able to push their despicable anti-gun agenda on everyone!

We can’t have that! So get to it and find those pesky Pacifists before they TAKE AWAY OUR GUNS!

Phases: Session and Coffeebreak. (Instead of Day and Night)
During the conference sessions everyone can vote who will be disarmed next to investigate his guns (i.e. who will be 'lynched').
During the coffee-break everyone takes a break from discussing, but those Pacifist-thieves are on the prowl.

Possible vote keywords: You may use Vote but also Threaten, Aim at or anything else that makes it clear that you point your gun at your main suspect. But the vote has to be bolded!

Possible Roles:
Reverse Gunsmith (= Cop, has a chem-sniffer, can find out when someone doesn’t have a real gun)[Alignment:NRA],

Enthralling Conversationalist (= Roleblocker, can chat someone up during coffee-break who then can't do anything else)[Alignment:Any],

Prankster (= Jailer, puts a laxative in someone’s drink, who will then spend the entire coffee-break on the toilet)[Alignment:Any],

Reluctant Gun Owner (= Godfather, is a Pacifist, but does own a real gun and is therefore undetectable by the Reverse Gunsmith)[Alignment:Pacifist],

Thief (= Vigilante, is NRA-aligned, but can steal someone's guns once during the game),

Kleptomaniac (= Serial Killer, isn't aligned with anybody and just wants to collect all those guns!).

Gun Mule (=One-shot Doctor)[Alignment:NRA] - carries more guns than he needs. Can check on someone at the end of a coffee-break and hand them their surplus guns, should they need any. If someone is saved in this way, the surplus guns are used up.

Reporter (=Neutral Survivor) - doesn’t care about guns and just wants to participate until the end to be able to report about this entire conference.

The setup is semi-open. I.e. there won't be any surprise roles and the mechanics are all known. But which of these roles will be present will not be revealed.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------
Sample PMs:

NRA:
You are ... an honorable NRA-Member. Guns are the basis of democracy, after all! You’ve heard that your glorious organization has been infiltrated by anti-gun campaigners. Inconceivable! You won’t rest until all of them are exposed and thrown out, so that your precious guns are safe!
Your only power is your vote. Use it well!

Pacifist:
You are …, a Pacifist. You have successfully infiltrated that nefarious organization called the NRA under the name and disguise of … . Their lobbying has made the USA a dangerous place to live in for far too long. It’s time to dismantle it from within. If you just disgrace enough members by stealing their guns, the NRA will be destabilized. Then you can do your own lobby work to have all guns banned! Your fellow pacifists are: ...
Your power is the factional coffee-break theft. During the coffee-break either you or one of your fellow pacifists can steal the guns from another participant, leading to their exclusion from the conference. However, more than one such theft per coffee-break would be too conspicuous, so you’ll have to decide who performs the deed.

(PRs get additional role information, of course)

RULES

0. Lifthrasil is the moderator for this game. If you have any questions, contact him via PM or via a bolded question in the game thread.

1. Cryptoclaiming is strictly forbidden. Cryptoclaiming is having everyone fullclaim in some sort of (preferably unbreakable) code, which makes it all but impossible for the mafia to win. Repeat, cryptoclaiming is verboten.

2. Betting among personnel is strictly forbidden.

3. Discussing this game outside this thread or other threads provided directly by the moderator is strictly forbidden.

4. Quoting your PM verbatim is strictly forbidden.

5. Real Life issues and situations ALWAYS take precedence. If a player presents a real life issue as a reason for any of their actions, that reason should be accepted and respected by all players. If issues become overwhelming, please contact the moderator and they will be able to organize a replacement. If anyone is caught taking advantage of this clause, they will be immediately court martialed (allowed to find another place to play forum mafia).

6. Have fun and enjoy the game. While shouting at and accusing your fellow players is expected, please remain civil.

7. Your votes must be bolded. Unbolded votes will not be counted. There is no need to unvote. You may use other words than ‘vote’, as long as it is clear that you threaten someone with the intent of interrogating them.

8. Please use bolded text only if you vote or to address the mod. Do not use bolded text for emphasis. Instead use italics or underlines.

9. Do not edit your posts for any reason. Remember there is a forum feature that automatically merges posts made within 10 minutes of each other. There is also a forum bug which sometimes prevents your post from appearing when it would appear on a new page. Please wait a minimum of 11 minutes before re-posting to avoid triggering a merge.

10. If you die, stop posting in this thread. A single "bah" post is allowed and encouraged, but it must not contain any game relevant material.

11. You are expected to make a post at least every 48 hours. If you need to be away for longer, please let the moderator know in advance.

12. Breaking rules, depending on the severity, may get you mod-killed. Mod-killed players automatically lose, even if their faction wins.

13. Once a majority votes for a player, that player gets interrogated (=lynched). No amount of unvoting will change it.

14. If no majority is achieved by the end of a day, no interrogation occurs.

Aim at ZFR

I bet he used random.org in secret!
Vote RedFireGaming.

Bold in case that didn't count.
I'm here. Voting me because I was scum last time isn't really a valid accusation, but this fits with ZFR's Scumhunting pattern last game.

Either way this conference

looks ridiculous. Guns being trained at other people for no real reason. Is this the true NRA Experience?

How many scum do you think there is in this game? It's a ten player setup. I could see two mafios- err, pacifists being present, but serial kil- err, Kleptomaniac is one of the possible roles. If there were two pacifists and one kleptomaniac, and assuming no doct- ERRRRR gun mules manage to get their protection in, this game could end quick if one lynch and two nightkills go through in each day-night cycle. Three scum but no kleptomaniac can be a given, too, although slightly overpowered (33% of the playing force is pacifist scum instead of 25%).
My guess is 2 pacifist scum + 1 kleptomaniac. But that's just a wild guess, not really based on anything. I too think that 3 scum would be too much. Though without a godfather and if we have a cop, I have no idea.

Anyway Aim at Microfish, something feels fishy there.

always. Story of my username.i should change it to "microunfishy" or similar.

yeah, 2 (+1) seems about right, but 3 regular might be true too?

Actually I didn't want to admit at first, but I used random to pick you. Does that make you feel better?
I'll quote my physics teacher: "What's this nonsense?".
