ZFR: Everyone agrees that flubbucket is the most suspicious character. And probably the culprit. He's beaten up and tied. Then everyone goes to his tent and looks through his personal belongings. The detailed search through his stuff leaves little doubt: flubbucket is a model citizen. He's a respected member of society and a pillar of his community. Looks like you've got the wrong person.

flubbucket is Filipe Hasse - Innocent Child (Town)

This revelation does nothing to calm everyone's temper. Tensions are high. The next person found acting suspiciously will probably end up more than just beaten up...

supplementscene: So is this definite ZFR or could it be a false call? If it is genuine it narrows it down to 11 of you.

If it is genuine are we getting these investigations each round?
avatar
PoppyAppletree: I much prefer to play games where I'm not in the same room as the other players. Because I can see sounds and only power roles and werewolves shuffle about during the night, situations where I serve up 2/3 werewolves for the slaughter are a bit too common. I think that actually having to think about people's playing behaviour and use something resembling skill is more fun. :)
avatar
supplementscene: I did wonder how night would work realtime. Do players simply close their eyes? That would make it a bit easy to cheat and spoil it.
The Innocent Child role is a confirmed Townie who is announced by the mod. We won't get auto-investigations on other players. Unless ZFR is pulling a trick ("twist"), we should be able to take it at face value. Depending on how the Mafia choose to play with it - knock off a confirmed Townie early on or gamble to try and hit a power role - flub's likely to be night killed sooner or later. You can be sure he'll be killed within a few days as the scum try to deprive us of information.

Generally you close your eyes, yes. People who cheat aren't worth playing with, mind, so that can be self-correcting.
Flub is a child? Yes. Innocent? Absolutely not!

I need to refresh my memory on how this game is played tonight...

Now I'm interested to see whether that counts as a vote in this game too. Or whether brawling in boot-camp is forbidden.
what am I thinking? fighting among future commandos is an insult to our glorious country.

vote supplementscene

Let's just throw him off the side of a mountain instead.

Alright, I'm going away this evening to be on a farm for a weekend. I might not have lots of opportunity to do internetting, sorry! Just letting you know now.
Come on lurkers step out of the shadows. If you don't I'll have to vote for one of you

ZFR: The bold part (and any bold text in the future) is definite in the sense that it's mod information and not part of flavour fluff.

As for the other question, why don't we wait and see?

Also, please no edits. I was online and saw that it was a post merge, but please, pretty please, be careful. Repeated offenses might lead to modkill even if I'm sure it was accidental and not malicious.
I'm terrible when it comes to double posting, it just goes out of my mind so I do see a modkill in my future. Also is there an easier way to quote multiple people in a post than copy and paste and then quoting the next person

Right so Flub is confirmed townee and unlynchable because I can't see ZFR messing up the game dynamic. We should run with that for now at least

I should vote you for creating a Pokémon themed game, I still don’t know what half the flavor in that game meant.

And I should trust everything you say. Have you worked out who the mafias are yet, or do you need a little more time?

Trent's got a 3/4 chance of being not-mafia. Maybe I should just trust him for this game.

OR MAYBE NOT MAYBE that's a HORRIBLE idea....
Yay Mafia!

Damn it's really nice to be in a game where we just don't have to worry about flubbucket! As unbelievable as that is.

Let's hear some more from people! But I'm starting to panic a little already.

I might be gone now for 48 hours. Look forward to seeing everybody again then!

Eh, I'd give people until the end of the day before accusing anyone of lurking. I didn't even realise the game had begun in earnest in the Russian Roulette game until a few rounds in.

Also, it's not that we can't lynch flub, just that we shouldn't. I personally think it would be hilarious to do so, but it would be extremely counterproductive to lynch the one person we know is confirmed Town.

As for quoting, you're pretty much out of luck there given the forum software. Also, it's really not in the interests of your team to get modkilled, so try and leave 10 minutes between posts if nobody else posts in the meantime. :)

Wow, I've heard of LAMIST but this takes it to new levels - you're so intent to convince us you're Town that you're literally doing farmwork. I've got my eye on you, buddy. :P
Hello! Just checking in to say I'm now aware of the thread, I'll post properly once caught up.
Hello, scums.

Oh yeah, I would totally hear the mafia doing their thing if we didn't all make a buttload of noise to cover it up. When playing mafia with Joe we all slap our thighs without rhythm in order to cover that stuff up.

Vote trentonlf for hammering me in the last game. :P

Any early thoughts to share on the people who're not lurking? Any interactions that seem somewhat artificial to you? What do you think about how helpful Poppy is with answering your questions? Must be nice to have a scum buddy coaching you like that, no? Or do you think she's pocketing you?

@Poppy: And how about the flip side? What do you think of scene's questions? This is like the third game in which he's going full on newbie. Does that still ring true to you?
Ok, boys, lets make my job easy. First scum to reveal a fellow scum, gets to see how Flub looks like on Saturday morning. Golden offer, one time chance though.

That's a really good idea actually, I'll try to remember that.

I don't think your quote worked, I think you need to put at least one character inside for it to work.

I don't really know about scene's previous games to be honest. I know they weren't present during the Russian Roulette game and got lurk-killed, but I didn't follow #54 at all due to other stuff going on. Was there another?

From my perspective, I'm keen to not have any players modkilled regardless of their alignment because I think it spoils the game. I'm not trying to go easy on any newbies since that's generally bad form, but I think scene's questions were perfectly valid ones which were best to get out of the way quickly. I'd prefer we spend as little time as possible trying to analyse the setup at this point since it doesn't really do us any good and lets people look busy without actually doing any analysis of behaviour.

ZFR might want to link the MafiaScum wiki in the OP, since I don't recall seeing it - it's a very useful resource, especially when it comes to uncommon roles like the Innocent Child.
