PaterAlf: You still can use the old GOG downloader. The links are just a little bit hidden now. Use the "more" menu on the gamecard in your account and choose "Gog Downloader Links".

Beldinoob: Ok, my bad guys and my bad Cd Projekt, i didn't found that you could still use the old gog downloader to get your game, I'm totally to blame then.

It's just that i didn't found it, even if i looked for that option.

I'm seriously not against change, but i'm, like, so afraid that one day, GOG will turn to the dark side of the digital retailing...

I bought so much games here, and i'm so in love with Gog from the beginning, that i don' want it to turn bad.

But i'm an idiot right now and i got a little bit upset about what gog galaxy could lead to.

This will never happen, I refuse to think about! Even is so, we just take our games and go somewhere else..
Galaxy has some good sides, mostly for younger users I suppose but also auto-updates comes handy. Probably will use it in the future, instead of regular browser. Having fun for now testing functionality.

That's true, but Galaxy itself can download installers too... In fact, the downloader is being discontinued, probably the reason the links are hidden.

Leroux: Huh, that's weird. How are you supposed to burn an 8GB file to disc?
I think the installer is still split into 3.9GB files like the browser downloads, it just doesn't show it. The GOG Downloader links in the old library did the same, after all.

Well, I guess I haven't burned anything to disc for ages either; I never knew about writable double layer DVD. XD

But I remember recently downloading something with Galaxy (which was not quite such a new addition as Saints Row) and it was split into normal DVD size portions ~4GB each.

Beldinoob: Instead, it seems that i have two choices:

1- use gog galaxy, which won't allow me to download my games and install them without being "online", so i say "fuck that".

2- use my internet browser to download the "setup file". But now, the setup fileS are divided into, like, 4 or 5 files, wich is a pain in the ass to download, (compared to the former "setup.exe" (one file) download option, on the browser or with gog downloader.)
Both are good options, so users can choose what they want.

For the second one I'm more than grateful, a bigger single file gives some convenience, at the cost of: gigantic waiting times to install (because antiviruses check every byte of the executable), so making a small setup.exe with the data in other files is actually VERY good.

Also you can backup them easier, because you can fit files in a 4GB DVD or pendrive.

Download them with a downloader like uGet or IDM, that also will produce faster and reliable downloads.

LOL. They have been around for ages. Today we even have such newfangled stuff like writeable Bluray discs which also come in single layer (25 GB) and dual layer (50 GB). :-)
