I have had just one glitch so far. When adding my install of Outlast (+DLC), the client started installing the 2010 redistributables package, and threw an error message saying that MS Visual C++ 2010 had failed to install. The client then insisted that my Outlast install was broken and greyed out the "play" button. I checked by launching the game from my old shortcut, and it works fine. It's entirely beyond my technical skills to know whether this is an issue with the client or my system - I'm sure someone will know better!
Oddly, when I added Shadow Warrior (the remake), the same error occurred, but the client then reported no problems with the installation, so I can launch it from the client.
The redistributables ran for me with both of these games, too, and no errors were reported.
However, the Play button for Outlast is greyed-out ('Installation Broken') and when I run the game outside the launcher it works just fine.
My system specs are similar enough to yours (Intel i7-2630QM @2.00GHz, Nvidia GTX460M, 8 GB RAM, Win 7 x64). It's really queer that the redistributables run again and, honestly, I'd like to know why this is the case.
When it comes to Outlast I'm inclined to think that it's just not compatible yet, even though it's listed as such. And this is strange. Out of the 203 virtual boxes in my account there is only one box that is listed as 'Not Yet Available': Penumbra - Requiem.
Update #1 -Verify and Repair option does not fix the issue.
-I am now trying a clean install, per the reporting mantis.gog.com.
Update #2 -Redistributables 'failed to install correctly' for on a fresh install.
-On restart of computer/client Outlast re-ran redistributables and they installed correctly,
however the entry still lists the game as unplayable and 'Installation Broken'
At this point it's clear that Outlast is incompatible with this iteration GOG Galaxy.
