== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

GoG doesn't give a shit about their customers, why their customers should give a shit about their Galaxy? No matter how many times I report anything about the bugs in any of your programs - I'm simply ignored. Your crap program will never be another Steam.

That's my final feedback.

If anyone wants to tell me I'm wrong - don't bother. I don't need your useless, like you, words in my life.

Over and out.

I'm going to assume this is the only update will will get this week. Was hoping for at-least a good size bug fix update before Christmas if we weren't going to see any signs of 1.2... this wasn't it. Sigh.

While I don't agree with his overall conclusion, I do see why he feels this way. I mean we post bug after bug report that largely do go ignored, and a fix is usually never provided unless it's a really major issue. We post questions or issues on the beta thread, and they go mostly ignored. Hardly anyone on the Galaxy team actually communicates with us. Updates are largely consisted of a limited number of small bug fixes and pretty much never include actual requested features. Enthusiasm is pretty much dried up at this point for the client, many people use to post here all the time with issues and feedback, now those people are nowhere to be found.... and this thread can go days without a single post sometimes.

No, I completely understand where he is coming from... even if his post is snarky as hell. GOG really only has themselves to blame for this mess as Galaxy is being completely mismanaged, even though we mostly like it and want it to succeed.. Sometimes I feel like we are putting in a lot of effort for GOG, but GOG isn't holding up to their end of deal.

zero_koop: I'm having an issue where I get an error every time Galaxy launches. The error is:

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Galaxy. This is a new Windows 10 install. Anyone know what's going on?

[can't attach log file]

mm324: This happened to me once after the latest Win10 update but since then it hasn't happened again.
The most recent Windows 10 update broke DHCP and other things:

Thankfully, it's fixed now but man, that was annoying while at work :D
Anyone having problems with playing youtube videos from within Galaxy? Looks a little something like this after hitting play. Until Galaxy is terminated and restarted.

They appear to be working fine for me on 1.1.25... is this specific to a certain game/page or all videos this way for you?

Nope. Any and all pages with embedded vidyas.

*Addendum:
Ah! This seems to be happening whenever I'm running on intel GPU. When switching to gaming GPU, it doesn't occur. This really should work on intel though, many gaming laptops out there have switchable GPUs nowadays for better battery life vs. performance ratio in games when it is needed. The first generations like mine were manual switch, the newer ones since then switch automatically when launching a game. The glichy UI can be "fixed" by declaring Galaxy to trigger the switch to gaming mode, but that'll deminish the battery life by just having Galaxy up and running in the background.

Not sure if it'll happen with other, newer systems than mine, but it should probably be looked into.
Since, you know, gaming community and such.

Interesting, are your Intel drivers up to date?

Really? I didn’t know that early laptops had manual switches for that. Honestly, it seems way better. I wish I could change which card my laptop’s using at will, or even see which one it’s using. :\

Thank you, this was the only type of answer I was looking for... I realize you can't comment directly on a dev or publisher's relationship with GOG. However, can you comment on if GOG is actively promoting the new system among partners, even older ones? It seems like only new partners or partners with new games on GOG are actually using the new system, while many partners still supporting older games on GOG with patches and content updates are not. Are they at-least aware this new automated system now exist?

For instance, like Starbound, just as an example both Prisoner Architect and Mount & Blade Warband just recently released updates... neither of which were pushed to the new system but all of which are older partners on GOG that I believe were here before the new system.

Latest ones available for my machine. It's an 2008 model now, tho. So, quite old.

IKR! So annoying. Some between at least offer the option to switch manually, but the newest models seem to completely take things into their own not-always-capable hands... but, you don't even have a tray icon showing which mode is in use...? Like, when you alt-tab out of a game and such?

Nope, nothing. I suppose I could download and install a third‐party program to get that information if I really wanted to, but meh.
How hyped is the dev-team for 1.2?
