No cards I don't want another steam K thanks. :)
If this thread proves anything, it is just how much Steam has poisoned everything, and everyone. Even those who hate it, are so devoted to their hatred of it that they can't see anything beyond that.

Trading Cards have been around a hell of a long time before GabeN was an itch in his fathers pants.

Cards are cool. GOG cards could also be cool. But we can't have them, because Steam.

seriously?

What's funny is that the original poster does not even appear to be talking about Steam trading cards, but appears rather to be talking about Steam wallet cards or whatever they're called - the plastic cards or whatever you buy to put money into your steam account IIRC. I could be wrong but that's my interpretation of what he's talking about anyway and others just seem to focus on the word "Steam" and "cards" and turn it into trading cards from there. :)

I'm kind of indifferent about Steam trading cards myself. I think they're useless practically and I don't really care about them, but you can just sell them and get free money for games or whatever too and I've done that on occasion. To be honest though, while many of the features on Steam are highly desirable by many in particular as an optional feature... Steam trading cards seems a little more on the side of things that I don't think GOG would really go for. Ultimately the entire purpose of the trading cards is not really for consumers/gamers benefit, but rather to psychologically cause consumers to spend more money by playing on collector mentality and bidding war type mentality, which IMHO is more of a consumer non-friendly thing to do. Valve makes a nice slice of profit from all of the trading card and other item sales made on their marketplace and it seems to be another way of just milking the cow.

I think if GOG were to add a feature like trading cards here at all, they would more likely do it in a more neutral way that they don't end up profiteering off of and that is more respectful of their customers and not seen as taking advantage of people.

That's just my opinion though, I could be wrong about any of this. Time will tell. :)

grimwerk: I'm only interested if they are goglodyte cards.

I'll trade you three tinyE's and a dog-eared monkeydelarge for a Korean spammer card.
You can have a dozen Korean spammer cards, one of them is even a (relatively) rare copper-shine one, else I'd feel I'm scamming you out of that monkeydelarge one.
