So..., the topic subject says it all. I think it is time for a little bit more Account Security. Maybe something what Steam did, emeil verification or a verification over the cell phone? For me it is importend to know, that my Acount ist save.

What do you think?
Account security is always good...

I'm perfectly happy with the way it currently is. Honestly, I find Steam's methods a huge headache. At least they have some justification for it since they store payment method information. GOG, however, does not.
Just out of curiosity, what is the worst someone could do if they got into my account?

Ruin your reputation by posting dull, entirely not funny, posts.
Cell phone nonsense? Dude I'd legitimately file a lawsuit if a cell phone was required to access anything on this site. Especially after I've paid for everything.

Not everyone has a cell phone nor able to get one or wants one if could.

No thank you!

Just because I happen to travel to some other country and enter my GOG account from there, I should be forced to jump through useless verification hoops? Forget it.
They clearly need to fix their site. I'm not logged in on top, but I'm posting this anyways. What they really need to do is to sack whoever that idiot is that's running the place into the ground. Unfortunately, he's probably the one that does the sacking, so that's not going to happen.
If some nefarious scoundrel were to gain access to your account, presumably you’d send a message to Support and they’ll give it back to you. Like, in a day. They’re pretty quick on the draw over there. Plus GoG doesn't store credit information, there’s no marketplace, and no friends list. Hax0rs really can’t do much damage to you unless they discovered you own Daikatana and blackmail you to keep that shameful secret.
The "sign in" bug has been reported...and yet to be fixed...which is of course really annoying >_>

It does beg the question of security though since i'm in this topic thread. Bug not in a way that need be worried about. I mean sloppy programming. But nobody is perfect -_-
What could someone do? Essentially steal your account: change the email and password and you wouldn't be able to log in. If you're someone who doesn't download the installers for your own backup, that could be a real kick in the tender bits.

Wait, someone requires a cell phone?
I live in a dead zone. I'd be totally fucked if that was the case here.
