For a long time GOG has prided itself on it's fair "global" pricing scheme, and made every effort to remind potential buyers that their games will be as cheap as they are elsewhere in the world.

With the introduction of several regional pricing schemes this is no longer true, yet the fair price scheme is still paraded in ad videos and on the front page. This is, in all seriousness what could easily be considered false advertising. And I strongly suggest that the GOG team make every effort to retract any current information that could suggest prices are still fair, before anyone gets the idea to hit them with legal action over it. I'm almost certain that would not go well for them.
Have you read their agreement? It seems to make sense. Basically, they cannot bend the will of currency exchange, but they can make up with it for credit toward other product.

I think it is a step in the right direction for people who want to be sure they're paying the same price as others --will outside government agencies be irritated by this? Maybe, but not sure how.

I don't think it's false advertising, I think it's false consumerism. Try purchasing a product which is priced differently in your region and see what happens. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak.
Do note that the term "fair prices" was introduced at the same time they started using regional prices and multiple currencies, before that they used "world-wide prices" (or something else to the meaning of equal price world-wide - in USD - of course conversion rates differed back then too, but that's nothing GOG can control).

The front page says Fair Price Package. Namely, that if you pay more than the US price, you'll get the difference back in store credit. Hardly false advertisement. The "One World, One Price" was taken down, following the introduction of regional pricing.

"one world one price" I think they used.

Right, that's it.
I'm not sure why everyone's making a big deal about the "One World" thing. Chances are, if you get caught up in it, you'll never make it out alive.

A foolish notion dropped a long time ago, and then "Many Worlds, Many Prices" wasn't as catchy as "Fair Price Package".

I used to work for Civil attorneys as a legal assistant. Trust me, the wheels of justice can't be greased enough to make any sensible judge in their right mind not throw this away.

Right, they needed to prepare for their expansion to Mars.

While quite catchy, it sounds like it could lead to innuendo. However, I think "Fair Price Purchase" could be good too.

Not just Mars their working on expanding to the entire Galaxy.

Oh, so you've heard about Star Citizen?

That's the goal, yes, but they do take care to not bite off more than they can chew, have to take it a little bit at a time.
