Those early netbooks will only give you grief. Lots and lots of games are simply not made for a mere 600p screen and the amount of RAM is crippling low. I strongly suggest getting something better. Even this old one is much better: https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/verkaufe-hp-notebook-343294492/ I cannot see any mention of a graphics card but if it has one, any, it should be way above your netbook. If you can afford it, something from 2011 or later would be better though.

There are lots of other models but I wanted to show you quickly something that should cheaply improve your computring experience manyfold (that is with more than 100%).

It is based on Chromium, that is open source. That is all I know but I guess it will be as locked in as they dare/can make it.

Well, I was guessing, that my netbook will be a gaming dead end. It´s my first Linux PC so I am quite fond of it, and I am regularly using it for all the email, browsing stuff and upgradet the RAm to two GB. But, at least I know it is not a Linux specific problem but a hardware one.

since this game uses the Unity game engine there should be a log file named Player.log, which may have some more information what exactly doesn't work.
The log file is normally located under:
~/.config/unity3d/<DEVELOPER>/<GAME>/Player.log

so for this game i would guess:
~/.config/unity3d/Ekuator Games/Celestian Tales Old North/Player.log

or something similar
One can try making games work on a lesser computer just for fun or if one really cannot afford any better.

...and you learn something, which I presume was the point of installing Linux on that pc in the first place. I am just allergic to 600p myself, 768p is much better, but not everyone is like me.

I manually searched the game folders and I used the catfish, but couldn´t find neither a single "Player.log"-Data, nor a folder named "Eukator Games". There are files names unity but the same named folder has no such Player.log.
I have no clue why.

Anyone also having problems with galaxy on linux after the update today?

Automatically updating to 1.2.64 broke all game launches on Lutris, Wine version 4.4, for me, everything was working yesterday.

Game crashes, when attempting to start from Galaxy, showing the crash reporter. Sometimes crashing Galaxy too.
The "Play"-button then stays greyed out I can't attempt again.

Game executables can be launched successfully, if manually started from Lutris.

Never used the "official" Galaxy client. With Windows games (for Wine), you can use lgogdownloader with Galaxy API for updating.

Thanks. Downloading and updating still works with the client. So I'll keep using galaxy for installing and just launch the games the old fashioned way.
Help needed. Not new to Linux, but new to Linux gaming (besides playing Team Fortress 2 on Steam).

Linux Mint XFCE 19.2 x86_64
NVidia drivers 390.116 (recommended ones)
I installed WINE according to these instructions (using the second, terminal, option)

When I double-click on the desktop icon or run ./start.sh in the game directory, it loads for sometime but then does nothing, the game does not start.

err:wincodecs:PngEncoder_CreateInstance Failed writing PNG because unable to find libpng12.so.0

I google for "unable to find libpng12.so.0" and apparently some others have had similar problems, like:

So far the only suggestion I dared to try from that page was to install winbind, ("sudo apt install winbind"), but that didn't fix the problem.

Basically you're getting the libpng12 error because the game comes packaged with an old version of Wine. As for installing the library through the guide at the end, is also perfectly safe. For this game specifically you need only the 32bit one but won't hurt installing both.
