Anyone can recommend one or more games, in which Runes play an important role in gameplay, or game setting/lore? No MMO, though... I was thinking something like Diablo 2 or Blade of Darkness, for example! Please help me make a list?

Ultima Underworld and its sequel, where they're used to cast spells.

In Ultima 4, Runes are among the many quest items you need to beat the game.
Ultima Underworld is a good example. Magic is done by arranging runestones, but you have to find one of each stone to have a full "vocabulary" of spells.

In SaGa Frontier, one of the many types of magic is Rune Magic, and the quest to get the gift (needed for stronger spells) involves collecting 4 runes.
Arx Fatalis as well (see the comments about Ultima Underworld above).
I'll second Ultima Underworld. The rune spell system is pretty novel. I loved that game.
you see arx fatalis men? you look on youtube at how magic is done men? magic is used only by combining runes men and drawing them on the screen mengst. either you find, steal or buy runes then you can use them in your spells. the more runes you have, the more spells you can unlock. besides those official (which appear in your spell book) there are also secret spells like poison. there was a walkthrough where you have all runes and spells men. you can play as warrior (REAL men!) too or some kind of assassin but runes are always good to have. if you don't use magic in combat at least you can make spell to feed you instead of carrying food around all the time :-/
Ok guys, serious question. You know Bradley. You must have seen at least some of the nasty shit he posts. Fuck's sake, you've seen his avatar next to this thread. Why, in the name of all that's fried and tasty, do you respond and help him with ANYTHING?

Why not? Just because someone else might be uncivil doesn't mean I have to stoop to that level.

Also, about the avatar. I have seen posts by several of you about his avatar. His avatar appears as a "Pirates of the Caribbean" character to me. Does it appear differently to anyone else? What is offensive about a fictional movie character?

Move your mouse over to his avatar to see his new avatar.

There's quite a bit of difference between ignoring his threads and not answering him, and "stooping to his level". That would require calling him "subhuman filth" or something like that. I don't advocate that. We can be civil about showing him the door.

As for the avatar, just move your mouse over it, to see the new one ("hidden" by the forum bug).
