You don't believe that there's speech that can incite harm to others, not just through the word, but through the actions of people? Hate speech exists and was the foundation of Nazi propaganda which caused the deaths of masses if innocent people for no other crime than being Jewish, gay, black or otherwise "imperfect." People were rounded up, herded into camps by armed men and experimented on, tortured and killed in a multitude of ways. Men, women, children. It did not matter. You don't believe that the Nazi party used hate speech?

How about the people of the Westboro Baptist Church, inciting people to protest and attempt to deny access to funerals for people they believe were punished by God? Attempting to incite violence with speech is very possible, and doing it based on someone's inborn attributes is hateful.

I dislike a lot of people for a lot of reasons, and I am not ashamed to admit it. I've debated in mostly friendly terms with people on here like dtgreene and others about the merits and my personal perceived ridiculousness of some things. But I've never come out and supported the idea that people should be rounded up and killed for being who they are, as long as who they are aren't hate-mongering people trying to tear down society themselves. Words may bounce off you. But bullets, clubs and hangman's nooses will definitely penetrate your armor once you find yourself on the wrong side of a hate-inspired speech.

TARFU believes it's just words on a forum/ But if left to fester, it looks like acceptance. Perceived acceptance causes others to join the cause. When more people are taken by rhetoric, then you have groups. Now that there human stains have reached each other, maybe they start meeting. They gain in number and confidence, and then they attract people in positions of power, or in positions to become people of influence. Their numbers give them money enough to create people of power. Now you have people with money, people with power, and numbers enough to cause actual physical harm to real people for just being alive with the "wrong" skin color or loving the "wrong" sex. It starts with one or two anonymous beatings and killings. Then you get to people bombing gay night clubs or inner-city youth clubs or what have you. Now we've gone from internet commenter to terrorist. Sound unreasonable? Maybe it takes the perfect storm, but it could happen.

More or less, it's what I've been trying to say to GOG. Doing nothing against these people is akin to supporting them. And like I've mentioned, more and more seem to be joining and it's probably because they know that nothing is being done against them in here.

I wonder if Bradley knows how much he is really hurting people, or if he even knows he is hurting people period? One of the biggest problems bigots face is their inability, or flat out refusal, to step into someone else's shoes. To him it may be all fun and games because the concept of someone being so different from him is too hard for him to grasp.
