I don't listen to music that often. When I do, it's in my home, on my PC . I'd never put on one of those stupid things, because they make you vulnerable, and less attentive to your surroundings .

OneFiercePuppy: I used one of these quite happily where an iPod Nano or shuffle might have been used, and the video Walkman isn't a bad device for a typical iPod. It also depends on what you want your "mp3 player" to do and what you want your phone to do, of course. If you want your mp3 player to be a smartphone that can't make calls, yeah, you'll want an iPod.
If all you want is an mp3 player, there are plenty of third party makers that have them. Get one of those. Buying an iPod from Apple is supporting the matriarchy... plus they're just using their profits to build a soul sphere in order to bring back Steve Jobs from Hades.

I was talking about the non Apple mp3 players I checked out at amazon.com. Not all non Apple mp3 players that exist on this planet, asshole. Nobody is discarding nothing, offhand.
