Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote on Twitter ‘My thoughts are with the victim's families in SC. Let us honour their lives by eradicating racism & removing the symbols & words that feed it.’

Apparently that translates to removing any game on the AppStore which shows the Confederate flag, including Ultimate General: Gettysburg. Other media are not subject to the same restrictions on the platform. Developers have the option to replace to Confederate flag with something else if they want to sell their game on the AppStore from now on. This developer has refused.

It is disappointing to see Apple not only disregard context, but once again treat gaming as a lesser medium. Historical games tend to be a valuable gateway into another culture’s history, and have cultivated my interests over the years. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned from the Total War franchise or Paradox grand strategy games.

SCPM: On the plus side, Ultimate General Gettysburg has moved up the popular list on GOG's front page quite a bit since.
It's also featured on the main page as a new release. :P

When is the U.S. going to grow up and stop squabbling over such petty things. The Confederate Flag is a part of our history. Like it or not it is . Blacks are offended by that but they have no problem pumping out babies to get welfare, pushing drugs, not working, and list goes on.

I'm sorry to say but it's true. I've heard many black say, who have 10 kids already, that the only reason they keep having babies to get more welfare or I won't work at McDonald's because it's beneath me. Many blacks are offended by these type of blacks. I have friends who happen to be black who have stated the same thing I just stated. Well educated, hard working blacks are very disappointed in their community.
