No, the notification system hasn't changed, GOG scrapped it altogether from the site when they introduced the new nav bar. But you can get your notifications back with Barefoot Essentials. If you already have it installed, update it to v.2.22.1, and make sure the related features in the "Navigation Bar" are enabled.
