01kipper: Apparently you need to use the HOME and END keys (on the numeric keypad) to select different races and classes. You can also use 1 and 7 instead.
mistermumbles: If only there was a reference card included with the game that said the same... Oh, wait! =/
I know I should study all the documentation,..... the manual and reference card at least before playing. Yet these days, i take less and less notice of theses things. Perhaps it was when games got more digital . You onow, when I stopped buying them retail. I used tohave my head stuck story section section adn noveliseation that came wi8thbthe game back in the day. On the way home from the city in the train. \
Anyway, I took your advice and found what I was looking for on the Reference Sheet/Card. Pressing the One Key does the trick, but it's not the easiest way for me. I'm still fumbling the arrow keys to get there and sometimes I looks like another keybinds neees replaceing when I trying to buy stuff ingame for my charcters. There is no audio or text prompt when a transaction has been made.
So, I have started playing the game now and almost lost some party members. Runninbtg out of ideas for what to call my female Paladin. Buffy Summers, you know the Vampire Slqyer with her own televsion show , but that was like 20 years ago now. As Pladin, I had a change of mind later on and decided to start her off as a Ranger. Since, she could theoretically have Undead in general (With a specialisation with Dusting Vampires ;) ) as her chosen prey monster and she does favour the Mini-Crossbow. Later on, I could duel class her into a Paladin. To reflect a holy poweers that did kind of manifest later on in her televsion show. Seriously, when I started thinking about the Slayer in a Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game. Not the computer game, but the table top version played using pencil n paper and real freinds or people yo8u just know. I eventually came to the conclusion that she might be a type of Monk class, considering he rmartial arts training and almost devotion to her calling that leaves her social life almost spartan. What I mean by almost is that she still has some sort of half-life. But in game terms, I still think she is mostly a monk withthat one thing borrowed from the ranger class. She's like monster hunting martial artist or Ranger with added skill in that area. Yet, these games and maybe even the ones that still carry the title of ADD&D don't allow for that much detail. Would be a nice to have that much customisation in a game like this or maybe a rematered of these games. I'd still like to see see thing but more than Sword Coast Legends even. However impressive that one is, I still keep removing it from my hard drive, because it still seems so narrow and I'm too impatient to finish anything big on it.
Regarding my game here....I have furnished the slayer with the rest of her Scoobies. Willow, Xander, Cordelia. Another Mage and two fighters. For want of anything more fitting. Willow had to be really smart but non too wise, witha Charisma non too higher enough to reflect her backward social status (In the beginning seasons atleast.) Xander is more well rounded than the rest, without any particularlly exceptional abilities. Aside from having physical stats that outweigh his other ones. Like , I wrote, well rounded. Not really a Jock or a Nerd. So he';s not really lacking anywhere either. Cordy, is hard, since she is kind of nasty despite her looks. Not sure how that effects Charisma, but maybe the imore intellectual stats factor into this equation.
Then I made the Watcher....Rupert Giles, a mage. Naturelly, very samrt, wise, and charismatic. I could started him off as fighter and dual classed him to rteflect his history as thug on the streets of London. yet I felt pressed to have another pure Magic-User on the team and yes,m I do remember that I am extracting throm a real wrold fantasy and importing them into this one. Not everyhting matters that much. They don't have any pin-stripe wizard suits in this game. (At the moment.) I did have him in the conical shaped head wear in purple colouration only. The was time when he was posing in the same head gear on opening day of the Magic Shop in one of the later seasons of Buffy. Yet, really....purple! No way. I have in in simiular garb as Gandalf. Grey robes. Suits him best.
Lastly, Angel who started out as a mortal adn survived to the modern era as a near venrable vampire. The closest thing to monster that lives forever (Or close to it!) and with that elegance on par with something like a Elf. Onmly deicated fan of thatshow would arriove to this conclusion. The mutilclassing simulates more than one life time of theory and practice. Yet, I only made hima Fighter/Thief. because he started out as a Scoundrel with potential to be a real Soldier. With more patinee, I could hyave had him as amore experienced dula classed mortal. yet, I felt pressed into having atleast one demi-human. I was thinking of making Anya and Half-Elf. She could very well, be Extra-Planear half-demons you can make in the Neverwinter Online game. Tiefling's, but Hal;f-Elf would do just fine. Not that I go that far. because only six cahracters per roster.
With thoughts of vampires and werewolves, (if you know Oz.) not existing in this game let alone that part of Forgotten Realms. There is always RavenLoft. Those games were also lacking, even more so....in tthat much choice. Despite appearances. I could really go back to Stone Prophet and who is that well knownm vampitre guy who's name starts with S?
