I listened to the Lenin's original audio speech recently, the propaganda is remarkably in same style to the one done in USA during the Cold War, just enemies and friends are reversed. Two extremes, appeal to nationality/fatherland and the course on conflict (not dialogue) as a solution.

I would say two masks, and the people behind them very much the same. And now we see the stage being set once again, with Russia the intended replacement for Iraq.

This has played out over and over again throughout the last 300 years or so, but it seems that there are very few of us that recognize this, and most of us that do have sold out our fellow human beings and stay silent.

Though, "Jerk" in this case is an inappropriate word. This person definitely has some kind of mental illness. Thus, i do not blame him/her, but i do not understand why i have to be in the same boat with him/her?

I'm curious as to why you think the BBC is capable of making an "objectively good" documentary about Yugoslavia?

It's informative. It meticulously tries to explain the background to the clusterfuck that happened. It went all the way back to the battle of Kosovo field. They interviewed everyone, and especially the people who later got dragged to the international Court of Justice in the Hague, while they were still in power, in a way where they clearly didn't care that their words might be used later in court (they did quickly start to care and hide a bit after that, though).

Look, I don't care what you think about BBC, but in this case, they did their research, got the right footage, stitched it together in a way that doesn't insult your intelligence, and it got the job done. If you manage to find a better one, or even anything on the topic that isn't an obvious spinning propaganda project, I'd honestly very much like to see it.

I've begun watching part 4, and will reserve final judgement until after I am finished, but I am disappointed there is so far no hint even that this was a dramatic failure on the part of NATO. It's clear that there were critical junctures where NATO action Would have had a decisive impact on Serbian aggression. Obviously, the Western powers saw the disintegration of Yugoslavia as strategically desirable, and chose to allow it to happen in a manner that can only be described as despicable. Appallingly despicable.

Anyone know when they film is going to be on wide public release? Seems Stone's new film Snowden is going to trump any release of this film.
