The Dark Knight was WAY overrated. It would've been an ok movie if it werent for the people prancing around calling it "the best moveh evar!!" and making every forum signature a picture of the joker that says "y so srs?" yea... really cool.
The Dark Knight is the Halo of movies in my eyes. It's ok and yet everyone loves it to an absurd extent... hope that doesn't get my rep docked :P
Batman Begins... now THAT was a good batman.
Erm anyways, I saw District 9 again.
Great film
Watched The Village for the 17th time. ... Ive got the feeling that some people here really hate that one :P Its my favorite movie so, I always gotta let people know how good it is.
I watched "Dorian Grey" tonight at the cinema, and was impressed to a point. Firstly, it was a great British film and really well done - there was more boobies than I though there was going to be. Then again the British do love a bit of slap and tickle.
Unfortunately, rather than the story being of an insidious still painting whose presence of which made Dorian Grey go mad, it was CG-afied and made noises, moved around and generally went 'bump' in the night.
As soon as the painting went "Burraarrrllggarrgg" I LOL'd and it was spoilt. Before hand I was actually wetting my pants at the thought of what it could look like.
Otherwise a ripping good film and a great adaptation of the story. Warning though, there's some hot and spicy gay action at several points which might make you go "duuddee, seriously".

Agreed. Although, watching Dark Knight shortly after Hot Fuzz couldn't have helped my impression much. Hot Fuzz was infinitely more entertaining.
Did anyone here NOT like the new star trek?

I havent seen it and have absolutely no desire to. Does that count? I am also tired of people saying I look like spock from the new trek movie. I preferred it when people kept telling me i looked like sylar. better to be a superpowered sociopath than a pointy eared dullard.

Not really a dullard in the new film.
I really enjoyed it, but it has got a very silly plot.
Not sure why they couldn't have rebooted it in a slightly different way, minus both the time travelling and Spock the elder.
Spirited Away: Love that movie. One of my favourite movies ever.
I really want to see Persepolis now, after reading the great books. Has anyone seen it?

Yes, it's good.
Except I missed mentions of it, it seems that there was not many talk about lastest Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds.
An excellent Tarantino movie, far better than Kill Bill (both movies) imo. Great characters, great scenes, great directing.
Any thoughts guys?
Oh, and District 9 is finally here in France today, can't wait to see it this weekend!

I liked it a lot, I don't know if it was far far better than the Kill Bills, especially 2, but it was still a pretty great movie.

Aatami: Subjective. I actually like subtitles as well, but many people find it distracting. (rec) is a good example of a movie that is hard to watch with subtitles, since the on-screen visuals are so important.
What I like about subtitled movies is that you can watch them with the directors commentary on and not miss a beat!
I have been saying for YEARS that all DVD's with commentary tracks should automaticlaly mute the movies sound. When will they ever learn.
I saw The Hurt Locker today, that movie was insanely intense.
I saw UP! yesterday. I've been waiting for it a for a looong time, and it was a blast!! I LOVED IT!
It's no my favorite Pixar movie yet (Wall-E takes the throne) but it's much funnier and moving that I thought.
The first 10 minutes or so are amazing, and all the main characters are hilarious. I want a Keven and a Dug for myself.
Saw Outlander a few days ago. It was alright, nothing special though.
