Well it's not on GOG so there's going to be fewer people discussing it here. From what I understand, it's a multiplayer only game that's rife with super tedious repetition, so big no for me. And it's already got its fair share of server-crashing bugs and cheaters:-

"In this particular case, the Reddit poster, going by the name teetharejustdone, stated Bethesda aren't forcing validation of file integrity so players can just edit the .esm as much as they want. For example, they can resize objects in the game or make colours brighter for better visibility, walk through walls, gain info on other players such as health and location, or even make their character have infinite health."

Even without that, to me it's just a weak attempt at becoming yet another "me too" multi-player shooter clone on the back of seeing Fortnite's popularity, whilst forgetting why people liked its existing genre, moddability & single-player centric style of play in the first place. Personally, I have zero interest in it, didn't even like FO4 and am simply happy that FO3 & NV are here DRM-Free.

It is a big, open, empty world, without NPCs, and a total reskin of the Fallout 4. YouTube footage shows this. Players are guided with audio logs to do repetitive quests. It contains bugs that have not been patched in Fallout 4. No Man's Fallout in a nutshell.

This. Even fallout 4 was a bit of a struggle. Dread to think what the next evolution from Beth's will bring.

Precisely I'd pick it up if it was FREE bethsoft can die I'd Love to see them out of business, Those studios they outright legally STOLE all becoming independent again, Fallout 3 and 4 were the biggest Pieces Of Shit ever, NV was the only HALF DECENT one out of the lot because of OBSIDIAN and Obsidian was rushed off their feet too.

All I can say about Fallout 76 is that releasing it without DRM would make it a game with even less content - so remains a pass for me.
I generally don't play multiplayer games so I wouldn't be very interested in this to begin with. Add to that the fact that it's a shell of a Fallout game with all the interesting bits stripped out in the hope that players will create narratives with each other and it seems like a total waste of time.

This idea of players building their own stories in an MMO isn't new, it's been around since Ultima Online and it always just ends up being boring in the end. The only difference here is that they haven't provided too much for the people who aren't interested in that from what I can tell, those are the parts that keep it from getting boring. That's why WoW has survived this long, they add new quest content that isn't a generated from audio log mad libs, it's actually designed.
The outcome was entirely predictable since it was annouced sadly but whatever i can't say i had an interest in the game at anytime anyway.

When it was revealed as a online multiplayer, no modding support, Bethesda store only it was dead on arrival for me and it would set a terrible precedent if it was succesful for future Bethesda Games and i guess they are testing waters with this game and how the gaming community responds to it.

There are quite a few articles out there that officially confirm that Bethesda intends on bringing mod support to Fallout 76. If they're already having issues with cheaters, what the hell do they expect to happen when mods start flowing in ("flowing" is probably the wrong word, since no one's playing it)? As soon as they announced it was Fallout MP, and I saw that it's visually a Fallout 4 re-skin, I lost any interest. I didn't know that it's a Bethesda.net exclusive, at least as far as PC players are concerned. A large chunk of the gaming community isn't even going to bother based on that alone. What makes that decision even more questionable is that it's PC players who will have to create the mods they plan on allowing. I am a little interested in how they plan on implementing it, if it even happens. How is a MP game supposed to work with mod support if some people are using mods that other people don't have?

It was only a matter of time before Bethesda made a go for the MP market. I don't blame them, it's a huge market and they are a business above all else. For now, their fanbase is speaking with their wallets. Maybe they can turn it around, who knows? I won't be bothering either way.

It will come they say but don't give any timeframe and honestly i'm not convinced since it's as you say a multiplayer game but it's the only way for the community to fix the mess of games they make and it was their desicion to make an online game and strip the game of everything that is Fallout except some artwork designs, i'm not saying that either Fallout 3 or 4 was proper Fallout games either because they weren't imo.

Bethesda could just as easily make a different IP instead of calling it Fallout for branding.

As for cheaters i don't give a damn and if it helps the game die faster then it's great news.

They already had Elderscrolls Online before Fallout 76, so it's not like they are doing MP game a first time, which does make it a bit baffling how they dropped the ball so badly with Fallout. Granted, ESO didn't have the smoothest of launches either, but it does look like F76 is much, much worse in all counts.

ESO was developed and is maintained by Zenimax Online. It's a separate studio owned by the same parent company. I also think it might be their only reason for existing at this point. Fallout 76 is from Bethesda Game Studios proper. That's the studio responsible for all of Bethesda's success. However, they ARE all part of the same family. Couldn't the BSG guys just walk across the hall and ask for tips from the ZO guys?

Exactly - it's not like they are in a different place altogether - except for the ones that work from their homes.
