ChrisGamer300: When it was revealed as a online multiplayer, no modding support, Bethesda store only it was dead on arrival for me and it would set a terrible precedent if it was succesful for future Bethesda Games and i guess they are testing waters with this game and how the gaming community responds to it.
There are quite a few articles out there that officially confirm that Bethesda intends on bringing mod support to Fallout 76. If they're already having issues with cheaters, what the hell do they expect to happen when mods start flowing in ("flowing" is probably the wrong word, since no one's playing it)? As soon as they announced it was Fallout MP, and I saw that it's visually a Fallout 4 re-skin, I lost any interest. I didn't know that it's a Bethesda.net exclusive, at least as far as PC players are concerned. A large chunk of the gaming community isn't even going to bother based on that alone. What makes that decision even more questionable is that it's PC players who will have to create the mods they plan on allowing. I am a little interested in how they plan on implementing it, if it even happens. How is a MP game supposed to work with mod support if some people are using mods that other people don't have?
It was only a matter of time before Bethesda made a go for the MP market. I don't blame them, it's a huge market and they are a business above all else. For now, their fanbase is speaking with their wallets. Maybe they can turn it around, who knows? I won't be bothering either way.
