If you like interactive fiction, this is one of the best ones I have tried lately. It takes a little time for it start, but when it gets going it is very good.

It is free to play, browser based, and saves your progress (you need to make a Story Nexus account), so it is perfect to whittle a way those lunch breaks.

Oh, I remember this one. I thought it had a very nice start and an awesome atmosphere, but later on it just starts to draaaaaag out.
Delicious friends!

Resurrecting, because due to the Sunless Sea coming out, I've started playing Fallen London. I can't stress my dislike for browser games enough, so it's saying something that I actually find Fallen London interesting to play. Sure, it has several annoyances that all such games have, but it's worth it. It's a decadent ride through a twisted place via good writting and thousands upon thousands of possibilities.

If anyone is interested in playing, my persona in Fallen London is Baron Lagavulin. :)

I actually also got quite deep into it until I got to the valley of repetitive boredom I always reach with browser games. To be fair, it took much longer than it does for most browser games.

This looks interesting. I'll have a go.
I thought this would be about Hellgate London coming to GOG ><
I started this quite a few days ago and it's quite casual and sort of silly. A lot of options, and still learning the ropes but overall a fine browser adventure game. Even with an action regeneration of 10 minutes, it's hardly a problem once I do other stuff away from the computer! I have only one friend (befriended randomly but still on good terms) so far but if any one wants more contacts, just PM me and I'll send my profile link (keep in mind, I am a newbie in it)! :D I really like how the stats really influence the chances of an option, and I love it when I pull off miracles with low stats like findings lodgings with a spare bedroom! :D Good game so far, I hope it stays refreshing for the long term.
This is like Sunless Sea right?

I started playing Fallen London recently as well, for the same reason as you and quite like it. Sure, the 20 action limit thingy is annoying but it takes only 3 and a half hours to fully replete, so it´s not a big deal. :-) You should check out its wiki, if you hadn´t done so already-it mentions all actions and their consequences-good to know in order to decide whether to risk a skill test or not.

My name in Fallen London is Drako Miyazaki (I chose the ninja face, so the name came out on my mind kinda japanese)-hope you don´t mind if I add you in my contacts (because I´m in general shy regarding socilaization in online games and you being a fellow goger and a fellow greek helps a bit). :P

Go ahead and add me. I don't socialize either, but from what I can tell, you get benefits by inviting other players to several skill checks, so, why not? :)
As for the wiki, I'd rather learn on my own what to do and not to do, spoils the fun for me, having a guide.

So yeah, after a few days of serious debauchery and hedonism, my Scandal is 7 and my Nightmares are 7 (they both shouldn't reach 8, as far as I can tell) so... a little help, guys and gals? :) Sure, sure, I *COULD* stop acting like a depraved maniac, but where's the fun in that?

And I thought I had a problem with nightmares! (mine are at 3- and scandal is at 2) Regarding nightmares: First of all, a stopgap measure-buy a goldfish if you haven't done so already-it gives Nightmares-1 while equipped. Seocondly, you can drink hot wine at the circus-it might lower the nightmares, if you're lucky enough-but if you're unlucky, it raises scandal so beware with that! There's also an opportunity that includes a bunch of criminals wanting to beat you up(can't remember it's name)-if you choose the option to outrun them and suceed, you get reduction in nightmares as a bonus.
Regarding scandal-the ablution absolution does a pretty good work, and also sometimes after helping people in opportunities you get a scandal reduction-although to get such opportunities, you might need to have Magnanimous 3-4 (I have my magnanimous quality at about that grade). Hope my tips help in reducing the menaces from your existence as a Baron of the Neath!
