sunshinecorp: Right, as I mentioned above, I'm pretty certain the randomness generator in this thing is seriously broken. I have failed a 77% success rate challenge six times in a row. :P

Right now I kinda miss my jam-on-every-single-combat-but-otherwise-says-it-only-jams-one-percent-of-the-time pimped-out Jackhammer shotgun in Wasteland 2. :P

I HAVE NOW FAILED EIGHT TIMES IN A ROW ON A 50% SUCCESS RATE CHALLENGE. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.
I haven't yet experienced such streak of bad luck, but I guess that would frustrate me too...
I found this matching FAQ at Fallen London:

"I failed a low-risk challenge six times in a row. Is your random number generator really random?
With a minor technical caveat, yes. We use an industry standard random number generator that is extremely well tested and used by tens or hundreds of thousands of other applications. If there any are flaws in it, they are subtle and beyond the reach of anecdotal evidence. True randomness is streaky: with tens of millions of rolls every month, some players will experience runs of good or bad luck."

@sunshinecorp & @Treasure: I added you both to my in-game contact list, hope that's ok. Greetings Cpt W*.

Of course it's OK. :D The more GOG users on Fallen London, the better!

I just recently read an article about how a well randomized music playlist will feel badly randomized because of a false expectation that songs from the same band (or whatever criteria one chooses) should be far between. A playlist that feels random should instead be artificially arranged to meet that expectation, while of course that means it will be much less random. Fun stuff.

While that may as well be true, I'll just say this: I've just now failed for the 10th time in a row on an 75% success rate challenge in Fallen London. :P
