I have loved the "Eye of the Beholder" game series for the PC for many many years. One of the greatest aspects of the series was the ability to bring a party from the first one all the way through to the the 3rd one. Having found GOG.com and then learning that all 3 games were here was amazing. I am however very disappointed that I can no longer bring my party over. Is there anyway the folks at GOG can fix this? Or has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? Any and all help is appreciated.

Might be helpful if you explain that a bit as I could have sworn the parties were still transferable.

edit: Appears to be an issue:

I haven't placed this series yet so not sure. Beholder doesn;t use DOSBox? Weird....

You may want to skim the subforum for that series and see if you find any other discussion over there:

Ha, I remember that for all the old Gold Box stuff. And amazingly those guys could defeat gods but invariably would fall for the common bandit knocking them out on a road and looting all their cool stuff...

When I open the game through the GOG Galaxy portal all 3 do open in DOS Box. However whenever I try to inport my victorious party from EoB1 I get a message saying that "save game could not be found. Insert save game disk and retry"

Did you copy EOBDATA.SAV from EoB1 folder into the EoB II folder?
For some reason I'm thinking the problem may related to how GOG uses DOSBox.
Each game is basically on its own separate emulated C drive, with its own floppy drive (if applicable), that only has that individual game on it.
They have no awareness of the other games, so they can't really see each others save games.

There may be a way to find out where the EOB save games are, and copying the file over to the EOB3 save folder somehow, but I can't find anything with some quick searching.

If you're DOSBox savy you could try setting up your own install with one static emulated C drive thats used by all the EOB installs, but that'd be a bit of work.

Edit: Or I could take too long typing, and triock will say in one sentence what seems to be the solution. Try that first before you get into any complex dosbox fiddling.

This is what I did. It's surprisingly easy. Install the three games, move them to a single sub folder, and use the same DOSBox config with all 3, except the executable line will redirect to the proper file for each game.

I did and it finally worked. Thank for the advice.

Well, if thats the bandits from Oblivion vanilla, wandering around penniless in 100k Glass Armour and weiding daedric weapons of unimaginable power, I am not suprised.
