WinterSnowfall: In my little corner of the world, half the country is already blocked under several inches of snow, most roads have been closed down, some flights canceled - forecasts show 2-3 days on non-stop blizzards.

Temperatures are expected to hit -20 C and that's in the "warm" south region I live in, and not taking into account any wind factor.

I hear Poland, Germany, Austria and other countries in Europe are even worse off.

How are you guys doing?
30c in the shade and the surf is up
Last night was the coldest here for us since the temperature hit -9ºC and in several parts of the town went much lower (the real feel was about -17º-18ºC). We haven't had snowfall for the last couple of days but it has been very windy.

You might make it without any blizzards then. Both Italy and Turkey got plenty of snow from what I hear - or better said more than they would have liked :).

We'll talk in 6 months, when it will be cold and rainy on you end and I'll be cooking at 40+ C. The sad part is that I'll envy you even then :P.

SpooferJahk: Ripping hundreds of CDs over here for my new toy, an iBasso DX50.

Also on Postal Redux, hope you enjoy the descent into madness that is the game's campaign. :P

tinyE: I bought the original when it came out years and years ago, I know all about it. :D
Same here, finishing it on a Windows 98 machine and the recent Steam version that has fixed controls.

I don't know about blizzards, since the winds calmed down for now, but snowfall is expected for the next two days. I guess we'll wait and see if that proves true. In any case, I have some carrots & big buttons at the ready. ;)

Still fine here, not too much snow here either...so far.
We are expecting another 8-10 inches today. :P

I can stand freezing to death, but anything above 25 is hell for me.
Currently there's barely any wind or snowfall, only a "comfy" -20 C :|.

Luckily, when I had to step out to go to work and then later get back home it must have been only a milder -12/-15 C. I was pretty much ok in my winter mountain jacket and boots - can't say I felt any bit of discomfort so far.

But the worst of it is yet to come...
Yeah, after freezing our arses off for days (and nights), we can finally continue freezing our arses off in the company of snow! It stopped snowing a while ago, but not before we got a nice layer of about 3mm, and we might get some more later tonight.

First picture from around 15:00, second about 2hrs later.

Today, the (traditionally) coldest place in the country, where temps are always about 10 degrees lower than in any other area, registered a minimum temperature of -32.6 C. There were about -21 C in the southern part of the country this morning.

It's also about 2 degrees cooler than usual indoors, as the chill has started to seep in the walls, with the thermal power plants and the aging heating grids struggling to keep the cold at bay. Most people, including myself, have plugged in additional electric heaters to get indoor temps back in the 20C range, which, it seems, has cause the highest daily nationwide power consumption level recorded in the last 15 years.

The next couple of days will show a slight increase in temperatures, but the damn blizzards are coming back, so the perceived temperature (aka "oh, so this was how it felt when hell froze over") will probably stay the same.

Warm regards to all Europeans and Northern Americans still freezing their butts off.
What a nice surprise it was to wake up and see some snow! Couldn't miss the chance to take a small walk. :)

Another 8-12 inches expected today.

It was mentioned early in this thread that I don't live in Europe, but I have a feeling that if this keeps up I'm going to be able to walk there. :P
