Wishbone: Watch the LotR video linked in the OP. That might give you an idea.
I was stuck too and nope, that didn't help at all. Would I know (((((, then there would be no trouble. I am just stating this as is, as I experienced it.

Had planned to work on this last night, but spent 2 hours (and $45) trying to fix my laptop, and never really got to it.

Hey, don't spoil it for others.

You don't need to know much about it. You're not supposed to interpret it yourself. There are online interpreters for that. You just need to figure out what to do with the information that gives you.

You know that I know that, unless you don't. I know where to feed, I have no idea what. I spent two full days on this. It does not make me mad even a bit, just the feeling when you are stuck for quite some time.

PS. Sorry, didn't actually want to spoil it.

I honestly don't want to give any more direct hints. Going on holidays tomorrow till end of week, if the code is still not claimed I'll think of something.

Just a question though: did you watch the LotR video clip or just quickly went through it? Did you understand what the riddle of the door was? what Gandalf thought that it meant? And how Frodo finally solved it to get the door open?

As I said in the PM, you already know what to feed it, you're just not aware that you know it.

I'd say don't waste time hunting for it. Just sleep on it and maybe illumination will strike you suddenly one moment.

If not, wait till next weekend.

Yes, I did. I watched it four times. I read about it on wikia, then on other sources. I did text search for just the phrase. I read into what that cave was, monster under water, analysed symbolic written on the door. I tired feeding various things. I used debuggers, disassemblers, tried brute force. So after that I concluded I miss the esotheric knowledge required to move further. Like failing to read the language on that door to understand that its the riddle in first place.

I am absolutely cool about that. I value riddle much more than winning anything, but when it does not work, I had to pass, since after spending 6 hours on it I understood that I can't understand anything anymore. Then you posted here and I started over, spent another day - went to where I am now, but still couldn't figure out where I am supposed to get something to "speak". So I concluded, I know no elvish, hence I cant understand where I am supposed to search. I am no Gandalf. =)

I assume the later. I hope I don't offend anyone or look bold, just make an assumption - so, I am currently stuck in the same place where I initially did. I assume I was among the first members, if not the first, who went through first two "gates" and then starved on input.

As analogy, I traveled in the bus then in the car and it then got stuck. I understood it lacks gasoline, I just can't find any opening. This is about the time when I contacted you in PM.

So then I got the LoTR reference and started thinking over it, still finding nothing on the car, whilst tasting it detail per detail (I couldn't take it apart, due to not being engineer in cars). Yes I "smoked" through the manuals about the reference.

In the end, I walked back into my starting point and discovered strange hollow spaces in car garage. But the car is still out there, waiting for gasoline. Perhaps the gasoline is in the hollow space? Perhaps its somewhere inside the car? I tried my best to no avail.

So here lies the skeleton of Lin545.
It looks: dead.

Well guess what. Turns out Lin545 did try the correct input. But he got no result because he didn't run *cough* all of the code. Some of it was left out, Wishbone ;)

Ah, my past comes back to haunt me ;-)

Well, I suppose I should be glad I'm not the only one to make that mistake.
The puzzle isn't giving me nearly as much trouble as the really, really terrible javascript-based interpreters.

I'll download a [hopefully] better one soon.

Lin545: ...
Don't feel too bad, Lin545, I couldn't get anywhere after the first gate.
One more step forward to coordinates. Once I found the right compiler it was pretty quick.

Now the puzzle of what to do next.

Ok, I think this is where I am. I think I get the hint, but am not sure where to apply it.

Aye, that's the clincher. I got stuck there for a while too.
Finally! Those goddamn red herrings :P. Anyway, good job with the puzzle :)
