AB2012: Is that with the shootergame.exe -epicportal? Can someone else please confirm this? It's entirely possible that has something has changed since launch.
avatar
Exceed20XX: Yes, I ran into this result from the executable here:
"ARKSurvivalEvolved\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\ShooterGame.exe"-epicportal

I launched the game, closed the browser window (renamed the EGS client folder so that wouldn't interfere either), got into the main menu and attempted to launch a single player game. It would attempt to load for a bit, then kick me back to the main menu, no errors or anything mentioned.

I would appreciate if anyone can reconfirm this one and their process on it.
45GB wow ... anyway. Downloaded and tested it. Even deactivated my internet for it and it worked. With the parameter I was able to launch a single player game without any problems. Without the parameter I could just hear music for a short bit and that was it.

45GB? My folder says 100GB.

Thank you for checking again. I think I found the error on my part. I think I must've had something from a DLC clicked and maybe it was scanning for that (maybe a selection from the season pass?)

45GB packed download which in fafct does extract to extreme 100GB. Glad you could figure it out :)

I tried it once during a free to play weekend they did at Steam and I thought it was suspicious when the EGS download said 45gb... I wish my suspicions were wrong there!
I can't confirm this myself, but according to pcgamingwiki, it looks like Detroit: Become Human not only doesn't have Denuvo anymore on the Epic Store, but it's COMPLETELY DRM-free as of yesterday's update. I just bought the game on Steam, and it's definitely not DRM-free there, so I may do a refund and get it on the Epic Store instead.

Quantic Dream has been all over the place with DRM and these three games. All three of them launched on the Epic store with Denuvo, and their respective demos had Denuvo, too. They released on Steam a few days ago, and none of them have Denuvo there (neither do the demos). Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls STILL have Denuvo on the Epic store, but EVERYTHING was patched out of Detroit.

Please keep us informed. Detroit is high on my wishlist - just waiting for another great sale.

I did the Steam refund and bought Detroit on the Epic store, and I can now personally confirm that as of this comment, Detroit: Become Human is indeed completely DRM-free from the Epic store. You obviously won't get to see the decisions that other players made if you're not online and running it through the Epic launcher, but the game works perfectly offline if you just want to play it yourself. No more Denuvo, no Epic launcher requirement, no special launch commands, it just works.

Thanks very much for testing this, updated.

Thank you very much. Now I just have to wait for a good discount and hope that they won't change this again.

Did Epic versions of Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls get the same treatment with DRM removals??

Beyond Two Souls has been updated today, maybe they removed Denuvo.

This would be fantastic, because Heavy Rain and Beyond still had Denuvo, which was weird as hell to me. Do you have Beyond on the Epic store, is that how you know it got updated? When I did the Detroit refund on Steam, I had to refund all three games, since I had bought them in a bundle; I'd love to be able to get them all DRM-free.

I own both Heavy Rain and Beyond two Souls on Epic and can test it. Might take a bit to download though.

That would be really cool if you could, thanks! The demos definitely still have Denuvo, so I can't imagine that the full games don't, but it's just so weird to me that they'd leave those and patch Detroit.

Just tested Beyond Two Souls. Unfortunately it still wants Epic launcher and internet so no DRM-free here.
