We don't know how about you, but we can already feel the scent of popcorn in the air. The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series is having a premiere tomorrow on Netflix so it's a good occasion to travel back to Night City.

That's why we are holding a special Cyberpunk: Edgerunners sale on GOG. The sale contains all the famous titles from CD PROJEKT RED with discounts reaching 85% and will last until 20th September 2022, 10 PM UTC.

JoaoPauloZA: I'm really looking forward to the Anime, but why Netflix?
I'm guessing Netflix was the only one willing to bankroll it.
I wonder if it will ever show up for purchase here. Slim chances at best, I presume.

apehater: it has become really uncrowded on announcement threads lately. i wonder why? maybe gog banned too many of all the gog forum users

fronzelneekburm: I suppose the recent releases have been bland and inoffensive enough to not warrant bitching about them in the news threads.
i also wonder, why an anime. why not a live action series with keanu reeves or matt damon ... or both???
high rated

How has this received such a low rating? Not saying it was, or wasn't deserved, just how, since GoG disabled the downvote system I did not think this was possible…

JoaoPauloZA: I'm really looking forward to the Anime, but why Netflix? That has become possibly the worst, most woke streaming service out there with oftentimes really, really poor programming content. It's not the wonderful thing it was circa 2007. Look at the news headlines and see the millions of subscribers who just tuned out. I'll begrudgingly watch it there though. You should have partnered with Prime if anyone else at all. I mean....they do give out GoG codes.....Amazon, that is. Like to see it here too, as the VIdeo section is basically an empty shell of a few titles nobody wants to see.

Just watched the first two episodes, fantastic! really well and shoking introduction of the world and characters. The animation as always incredible good! Love that the mother wanted to help his son not to live all the shit that he will start living, Thanks again!

Hopefully Netflix doesn't have permanent exclusivity. Perhaps the best we can hope is the series gets released here in a few years or after it bounces around from other streaming services, but I am skeptical it'll show up. If there's a Season 2 maybe S1 could show up here when S2 releases on Netflix.

I was thinking the same, it would be great to finally be able to buy an anime in a DRM-free digital format.
Enough with the optical supports or the untrustworhy streaming services, FFS.

They removed the ability for a person to downvote, but the feature might still be usable for bots using scripts.

Ahhh, duh bots, I should have known this, thanks for the info!

Something must have changed because I don't believe previous rating bombings were made all by hand. There were users and threads of which every single post was always marked as low rated in matter of minutes. It couldn't be done other way than bots and is not the case anymore. Since the changes only some odd post once in a while gets the low rating and it disappears shortly after.

Netflix streaming service got worse because everyone has pulled out of it, and opened their own streaming service. Now, what you used to get for ~$9 a month, you have to pay $10 here, $12 there, and still just get fractions of it. People saw Netflix making all that bank and wanted the whole cut of it. Netflix was awesome, then corporate greed took over and everyone pulled their good content, and left Netflix with some movies and their originals, which as anything, are hit an miss. I'll never subscribe to peacock, nor will I subscribe to Disney+ for these reasons. That and they have very little that appeals to me.
