We don't know how about you, but we can already feel the scent of popcorn in the air. The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series is having a premiere tomorrow on Netflix so it's a good occasion to travel back to Night City.

That's why we are holding a special Cyberpunk: Edgerunners sale on GOG. The sale contains all the famous titles from CD PROJEKT RED with discounts reaching 85% and will last until 20th September 2022, 10 PM UTC.

But no GOG release of the anime, because God forbid a video media DRM free.

I really wish we could purchase Edgerunners on gog. Any chance of that happening? Maybe even before it's taken down from streaming services because that's how those work, specially for animated shows.

Gog promoting something on a streaming service... And with a video in the news piece that requires signing in to Youtube to see...
Can't watch [as I won't login]. Kthxbye
it has become really uncrowded on announcement threads lately. i wonder why? maybe gog banned too many of all the gog forum users

I suppose the recent releases have been bland and inoffensive enough to not warrant bitching about them in the news threads.
Actually, i was wondering if the Edgerunners show would become available to purchase through GOG (perhaps the rather anemic movie section)?
I'm really looking forward to the Anime, but why Netflix? That has become possibly the worst, most woke streaming service out there with oftentimes really, really poor programming content. It's not the wonderful thing it was circa 2007. Look at the news headlines and see the millions of subscribers who just tuned out. I'll begrudgingly watch it there though. You should have partnered with Prime if anyone else at all. I mean....they do give out GoG codes.....Amazon, that is. Like to see it here too, as the VIdeo section is basically an empty shell of a few titles nobody wants to see.

Even with it's problems I still love Cyberpunk 2077, as well as just the cyberpunk genre in general. I'm interested in catching the show... but I have to be honest... whoever thought it was a good idea to use a really REALLY bad scottis pop song from the '00s for the theme of the intro should be fired. 'This Fire' is one of the worst kind of pop song/ear works out there. Hell, cyberpunk already has some amazing music. They should have went with something the sound track.

GOG.com, it's rather silly to build entire gamestore with a client and all on DRM-free principle, and even sell game related-movies/documentaries, but when it comes to other media based on CD Projekt's gametitles, these titles are completely locked behind DRM-seething external video streaming websites. Why? Nothing is stopping you to put all these titltes for sale in gog.com as well. I have no Netflix-account nor I ever plan to acquire one, however should the content be available here, DRM-free, there could be an actual incentive to purchase, download and see.

No thanks, not signing up to another streaming service, especially one that is going through some serious struggles, just for a 10 episode series.

I would consider a Blu-ray physical edition pick up but Netflix doesn't really have a good track record in that department.

While I'm old and mature enough to understand the reasoning for this to be available (exclusively?) on Netflix (they paid for the series, after all, and of course want their investment back)...I will gladly wait, until it streams somewhere else - or maybe even gets released here on GOG in your long asleep "Movies" section.
Remember that section?
It's a little dusty in there - but it still exists...just saying.
Really happy! Trigger studio is such a good anime studio! Today I'm planning to start watching it.

Thanks!!
