Tarhiel: Precisely, that was the sentence when they lost me.
Unless they implement a save system, I am not interested.

Atreyu666: They already lost me on "rogue-like". I wonder how long this trend is going to last...
Yeah that "trend" since Rogue... let me check, 1980, yup, is gonna last.

It just feels like we got more games like that in the past 5-6 years than ever before.

Not really. The modern term "rogue-like" has almost nothing to do with the original rogue. In particular, it has nothing to do with the features which distinguished rogue from its contemporaries. You may as well call all of these games pong-likes.
Found this while looking through one of the sales. Still in early access.
Some of the gog reviews - people enjoying it.
How close is it to coming out as final product?
Also is there a storage system between runs?.

Currently, the game is at version 0.9. If I'm not wrong, full release is scheduled for Q3 this year.

Your ship has a cargo hold where you can place any equipment you managed to get or give it to your mercs.
If a merc dies in a mission, all their carried equipment will be lost, which can be a greater loss than merc themselves, as they are quite "expendable", they learn their skills easily and can be replaced by another team member or recloned in a few hours.
If they manage to get back, you can transfer their stuff to the ship at will.
Hows peoples experience with this game up til now?. I see the other store has updated beta since Sep,whats latest here?.
Comments seem to alude to full release sometime autumn? (Nov Dec or Jan?..after the last patch but when)

I tested/played it only for a little while when it was still fresh, so dunno how it's current state is, but for what it's worth:
It was good, albeit slow-paced. I rage-quit when I cleared a hard level and figured - I killed the target, killed ~90% of enemies, now it's time to extract; extraction is 2 rooms further; might as well sprint there... what could possibly go wrong...

yeh... I died...

Haven't looked at the game since that rage-quit.
As Lone_Scout wrote in May - all equipment is lost. I doubt that game mechanic has changed...

I always wondered how it developed further, but it was just too unforgiving for me.
Atmosphere-wise though? Top notch.

But again... I played it when it just arrived... here's hoping someone who has played the latest version chimes in.

Hard to tell. Latest build here is 0.9.5.2.103g, on Steam it's 0.9.7, but that's the experimental Beta branch. There are no notes to differentiate between 0.9.5 builds. And it seems between July and September there were many. Weird numbering on their part.
As far as I can tell, the game is timely updated, despite the weird version numbers shown on GOG. Not 100% sure tho, but I'd swear it. However, we don't have access to experimental branches...
