This is an early access fighting game where the character roster is composed of Gods and religious and mythological figures from around the world. It already features Jesus and Buddha. Malaysia temporarily blocked steam after Valve failed to comply with their ultimatum to block players in Malaysia from downloading the game. Steam store was blocked, games were playable. Similarly the devs received communication from the govt of Thailand asking them to not sell the game there and the devs complied.

Doesn't feature Hinduism and Islam yet, but I expect more butthurt when it happens. Anyone around here still care?
LMAO

Jesus is the end boss, and he beats you with broken pieces of the One True Cross.

That is magnificent.

Of course, as soon as the put you-know-who in the game, the developers will all be killed.
No Elder Gods, no game.

Well, devs gotta leave some stuff for future DLCs, I suppose.
Meh... another game wants to generate buzz by being controversial.
Blocking whole Steam in Malaysia? That's more than "Hatred" ever did. The devs must be happy.

To me, the limited selection of modern gods suggests the developers wanted to avoid the fuzz. And it was the govt that blocked steam. I guess its good that steam wasn't completely gone like when EA withdrew from Myanmar.

And to me, the limited selection of modern religious leaders (Jesus is not a god) only suggests that the developers expected two fighters to be enough to enrage people. Making additional characters cost money and Digital Crafter is a small studio after all.
I can't belive they didn't expect this controversion and I'm pretty sure they wanted it.
God is Love.

Love is Blind.

Therefore, Ray Charles is God.

Here comes a new challenger!

If religious nutters want rapture, let's do the world a favor and oblige them.

It doesn't require the Steam client to play, so at least this game is DRM-free for those who do have it.

They get rapture, we get peace. If that isn't win/win, what is? :o
wait, that means the crosses in our church are false?

also apparently they did not do allah because "The game designers said "we like our heads attached to our shoulders""

so, muslims, who's cooler now, you or us christians?

Seeing how the Christian churches have historically killed millions for blasphemy, I would be careful not to throw those rocks.
