Across the years, Dungeon Siege and Deus Ex series gathered a massive fanbase among the gamers worldwide. Today Dungeon Siege Collection, as well as Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided arrive on GOG.COM in all DRM-free glory.

Dungeon Siege Collection (-85%) includes three parts of the cult fantasy RPG series, along with the DLC titled Treasures of the Sun. The Dungeon Siege series was born in 2002 from the Gas Powered Games studio members' passion for the RPG genre. The title captivated gamers around the world with its rich fantasy world, beautiful 3D graphics, and mechanics that were easy to grasp even for the beginners in the RPG domain. It was only a matter of time when the sequel was released in 2005 with the expanded world and a more complex storyline.

Over the years, Dungeon Siege became a cult classic. This led to a movie adaptation of the game featuring Jason Statham and, finally, to the third part of the series. This time it was created by Obsidian Entertainment (veterans of Baldur’s Gate) and published by Square Enix. Released in 2011, Dungeon Siege III introduced gamers to an innovative combat system that made the gameplay even more dynamic and engaging.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (-85%) is also a good example of revamping a cult series. After Deus Ex (2000) and Deus Ex: Invisible War (2003) made a lot of fans thanks to the cyberpunk setting and RPG elements, the series went into a hiatus for nearly a decade.

Human Revolution lets us revisit the same dystopian universe of the future, albeit its story is set a few decades earlier. The world is divided between the supporters and opponents of human augmentations. The main protagonist, Adam Jensen, is a former SWAT member and the head of security at a tech company. He is being cast into the above-mentioned strife after suffering heavy wounds and being biotechnologically enhanced in order to save his life. During the game, the player can expand the main character’s augmentation further, making him even more lethal.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (-85%) further expanded on adventures of Adam Jensen, merging action elements with RPG decision making, that changed the face of the storyline. One of its highly praised elements was the so-called Breach - an alternative game mode set in the virtual world. On top of that Deus Ex series was even further expanded with the successful comics series.

Now you can revisit the fascinating universes of Dungeon Siege and Deus Ex once more, thanks to the Square Enix Publisher Sale on GOG.COM featuring deals up to 89% off until 4th May 2020, 1 PM UTC.

SmollestLight: The issue has been fixed for the Deux Ex: Mankind Divided DLC as well! You will now be able to play it without GALAXY.
avatar
LiefLayer: This is good news indeed.
A fast fix too.
This time I will just think it was an honest mistake.

Thank you
This time? You mean they fuck up on purpose? So many ungrateful customers in here. Im in the sales business, i know how hard they must be working to care for the entire storefront, deal with customer requests and handle updates and fixes.

SarahGabriella: What "scheme"? Y'all are some conspiracy nuts in here, seriously. GOG is DRM free, period. Dont like GOG, go to Steam or better yet, go to the fucking Epic Store.
avatar
Starkrun: So what happened was the DLC was given without any changes to it, it still needed to authenticate to activate... GOG used there own method to do that.. the requirement was a downloaded installed Galaxy client that was authenticated and had its GalaxyCommunication.exe running in the background. This would intercept the call the game tried to send to steam using GOG's own in house method and reply back with a YES so the DLC turns on.

TL;DR: The EXE had to be allowed to try to call home so GalaxyCommunication.exe would see and grab the call and reply with the YES.

This all comes from Square Enix/Eidos not doing there part with the DLC. Thankfully the main game was given fully DRM free so this didnt happen to that.

And that is as simple as i can explain what happened.
Did anyone even finish the main game before the fix was in on the DLC?

Will we get the missing DLC's for the Dungeon Siege games at some point?

Lodium: I think people in this thread is reading into it a bit much
Mistakes happen, gog empoyees are not robots
even on steam a platform that earns a lot more than Gog mistakes happen.
Its nothing new.

karnak1: Unfortunately it was an accumulation of factors as well.
Growing distrust for GOG (removal of GOG downloader, increased publicity for Galaxy, removal of update flags, etc) + too many people at home with too much time on their hands + terrible psychological and emotional stress due to the pandemic and forced quarantine + conspiracy theories galore due to these terrible times we're living.
A terrible cocktail which damages people's nerves and makes everyone jumpy and less tolerant.

GOG must be more careful and check their releases twice from now on.
Some people being less tolerant and Jumpy is more the Norm than the exception if you ask me
it didnt arrive with the pandemic
It has been present since the dawn of man, Religion, Politics, Aliens, etc
it also increased exceptionally when the Internet got invented

No, there is no way... it's in a nightmare state of who is what, sort of like "No One Lives Forever". But you can get them yourself, hit up the subforum and look or the how-to... I can confirm Killahs fix works along with the mod that puts the entirety of DS1 into the DS2 engine with all 3 working DLC landmasses creating a "Legendary Edition" ;)

SarahGabriella: Just check games patch notes then. Its not a big deal. If a game needs updating, it will show in the download section anyways.
Sorry, you are missing the point. I have well over a thousand games here, should I routinely go through each changelog - which by the way is not generally always updated or even in some cases present - to check if a game has been updated. I have no idea what you mean by "it will show in the download section", is that some kind of galaxy thing?
avatar
Berzerk2002: It should. The file are definitely updated.
avatar
nightcraw1er.488: Sorry, it wasn't a question it was the point that the website no longer shows games as updated, even the rather dodgy blue dot and Updated flag from before has now gone.
What response were you expecting from SmollestLight?

Galaxy is useful to have. I recommend getting it. You dont even have to start it to play games either, its just helpful to see updates right away.

Maybe theyre gonna being back the "this game has an update" feature in a different form. That was useful. So im not even disagreeing with you here. But you know we got a pandemic going on, so some leniency would be appreciated.

If you have that many then you need to invest in GOGREPO and mange it yourself. The attached images are how i monitored for DuesEx updates and automatically downloaded it.

You can also use https://www.gogdb.org/ and watch a live feed of the changelog which is image 3 below. Or just put a change watcher on your favoite games.

If you need them all to be monitored then you need to setup GOGREPO: https://github.com/Kalanyr/gogrepoc]GOGREPO.PY thats link to mainbranch feel free to go Dev if you want.

Read the other posts and the wishlists for them. The expansions are in copyright limbo.

I was expecting some sort of response to when this, and the various other issues would be resolved. U fortunately the only answer now seems to be “we recommend using our completely optional client galaxy”, that’s pretty much the response I get.

That is the forum thread above
Yes, I have looked at it in the past. Problem is, it does things it’s way, and I have my backups in my way, and they don’t really overlap. I have a folder structure which I have for years, across many sites/systems etc. So to use gogrepo I would need to alter terabytes of information across multiple backup systems, not going to happen.
I should t have to rely on someone’s script to fix something fundamental either. Nor should we be forced to look at “other” websites to look for older working installers as that is not there either. Or check on forum posts for change logs as that doesn’t work. Or redownload 30gb games just after release as no one bothered checking them before release (yes nobody checks it, just like nobody checks the release threads which mostly don’t work straight up).

Galaxy is supposed to be optional. Anyways, i am having leniency due to circumstances. These issues though have been ongoing far further back in time than the pandemic. Change logs not being updated, or missing is not a new thing. Installers being removed in favour of new versions which are broken, is not a new thing, releases that are broken (deliberately or by “accident”) is not a new thing, it happens every other release. Galaxy 2.0 on the other hand came out bang on time. It’s all about priorities, and the website and everything non-galaxy, is not even on the list until there is an outcry. How long do you think this issue here would have been around if there wasn’t a 17 page rant? If we had quietly put in support desk tickets and got the “use galaxy the totally optional client” responses (yes I have had these)?

Not to mention that these installers are no longer looking as shiny as they once did. My dungeon siege 1/2 disc images have taken precedence from them due to lack of the expansions. Going to be looking far more closely at it from now on, do I want a disc image with the expansions, or an installer with galaxy.dll embedded, mmm, difficult choice.

What Galaxy DLL? You dont need Galaxy to play your games...And they would have fixed it anyways without everyone making a peak first world problem kinda fuzz.

WTF gog
are you fucking insane?

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/has_gog_stopped_flagging_game_updates_with_the_blue_dot

I didn't even notice until now and now I have to search for what you did fucking update this month.

It's a good thing you solved the drm on deus ex but I already discovered another big problem.

Not just that, if I try to install Deus Ex MD from offline installer and I do an integrity check first I get a corrupter bin-3 part, while I don't get any error with the same part downloaded by gog galaxy (it was already an error before the dlc drm-free update).

Please gog... just do a rollback of all your disaster in the last month or two.

PS. I wish Adalia or Barefoot will fix this. Not sure if they still want to support gog as a platform since they need to fix you everytime you update something.
