Why should it? The game will run perfectly fine on Windows Vista and above. Here are the minimum requirements:

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10 x64
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2220 (2*2400) or equivalent AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 5000+ (2*2600) or equivalent
Memory: 2048 MB RAM
Graphics: GeForce 8600 GT (512 MB) or equivalent Radeon HD 4670 (512 MB) or equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 1200 MB available space

Unbelievable. They yank Duke from GOG, and then announce a Steam-only re-release?! That requires DirectX 11, even though it looks pretty much the same as it did in 1996?! An official new episode sounds cool, but it should be available here on GOG at a low price point.
