Hi!

I have been a member here on GOG for quite awhile now, posting in the various forums and playing lots of games from here. Over the years I have amassed a decent little collection of classic PC RPGs. Games such as Gothic, Gothic II, Baldur's Gate, Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil, and so on and so forth.

You can say I'm an "old-school" RPG head. :)

So, that is my little introduction for this thread, and I want to invite you all to join a little Google+ community I have recently created. It is specifically for RPG video games, such as the classics I named, as well as new games like Skyrim, Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, Dragon Age, and so many other new RPGs that are being released recently.

The community is for all fans of RPG video games to exchange thoughts, ideas, suggestions, videos, media; everything.

I personally focus on "old-school" style RPGs, but the entire community will be varied due to members who love all sorts of other RPGs!

So, that's my little invitation to you all. I hope I'm not breaking any rules or stepping on anyone's toes. I just would like to share my love and passion for RPG video games with others, and what better place to do it then in a little RPG community. :)

Oh, and I make videos for RPG video games as well. Here are a few links for you to peruse at your leisure:

Yes, I do love 'old' rpgs. Thanks to GOG for letting me access all the games I missed in my youth.
I love the idea for a group. I also love classic RPGs.

I do not, however, love Google+

;)
No, not at all. I just happen to quite like Spiderweb Software. :P
From the thread title (well, the emoticon) i though this was going to be a thread asking how did people liked old rpgs because the op didn't like them.
I've always been fond of the first person dungeon crawlers myself; Eye of the Beholder, Wizardry, Might and Magic, etc. Those games seemed to be much more popular in Japan, though, and there have been so many Wizardry remakes and spin-offs there that have never been translated to English.

... Is it sad that was my primary inspiration for learning to read Japanese?
Depends on the game. A lot of old RPGs had clunky interfaces. But generally, yes.

When I was a wee lad, dinosaurs and streams of lava still were present on earth and we didn't call it RPG, we called it 'struggle for survival'.
Pffffffffff, youngsters!
Thanks for all the awesome replies!

Stay cool, everybody. See you all (hopefully!) in my Google+ RPG community!

Check out Fluent's RPG World on Steam as well. I made a little group there and have started a Curator List, recommending nothing but excellent RPG titles! ^_^

Dinosaurs and lava, you had it easy! But you try telling the kids of today that and they don't believe you.
