I managed to get a code for the Gwent card game closed beta, and in the GoG galaxy client there was a ad saying:

Subscribe to our newsletter and gain a free card keg and a free copy of The Witcher: enhanced edition.

I already had the game, so i thought i would get a code for it, so i could give it to a friend of mine, like i did when i received a code for a ShadowRun game during the GoG winter sale.

It's not a big issue, but i wish i had some warning on the ad that if i already had the game, i wouldn't get a code for it.

Hm, I recall getting a code for it the last time they were giving out codes. Check your email and your orders history, you might find it there.
Or ask, I think there should be plenty of The Witcher codes available in the forums.

I did received an email about the welcome bonus, which was the free card keg, but i got none about the Witcher enhanced edition, not even on my spam folder.

EDIT: I also looked into my orders historic, and there also there was no mention to the free copy of the game, just the welcome bonus.

If I remember correctly, there is a banner on the page in Galaxy you have to click.

That would be the ad that gives you the card keg and the free copy. But since i already had the game, the ad showed the game as already "claimed".

That's what i'm saying, i wanted the free copy to give to a friend of mine, but the ad made no mention that you wouldn't get a copy if you already had the game in your GoG account.
Have you tried adding the game manually to your cart then proceeding to checkout while on Galaxy?

I think someone else had the same problem a few weeks ago. Not sure if they resolved it or not though.. I'll try hunt the post out later if I remember.

A user was kind enough to send me a key for the game, so my friend already got it.

I'll try to send an emal to support, if i manage to resolve this issue i'll give the key back to that user.

It seems i found what's preventing me from sending a gift away even tho it's a free copy.

I found this on their support page.

"I cannot buy a game as a gift, why?

We had to implement some restrictions for buying gifts with some payment methods, for security reasons. We know this can be an inconvenience, and we're very sorry about that.

As stated in checkout, in order to gift games, you need to have purchases, worth at least $10 / €9.19 / £6.69 / A$13.99 / 719.00 RUB / 55 DKK / 70 NOK / 65 SEK / 30 PLN / C$ 10 / 10 CHF, made at least 3 months ago. "

So it's seems this is preventing me from sending the free copy as a gift, i think. I'll send a email to support and see if this is the reason.

Yes, support tried to solve the issue, but wasn't able to and finally gave him a redeemable code for The Witcher.

It's indeed an issue with gifting the code. It's the same problem the other fellow GOG user was facing. Contacting support is the best way to handle this. Even if they can't solve it (again), they'll probably give you a redeemable code as well.

Yup, they gave me a code for the game, so i gave it to the user which was kind enough to gift me a code for the game, so everything is as it should now ^_^.
