Hi, everyone!

Recently I took the Gog offer of one free keg for gwent and the Witcher game. The thing is that I already own The WItcher, but Id like to give it to my girlfriend who hasn't. When I try to send it to her, It doesnt let me, saying that an error has occured during the transaction. I've tried several times, I even received a confirmation in my email about the free keg, but still cant give my witcher copy.
Any ideas about the matter?

Contact support.
Not sure I understand what transaction you're trying to make.

If you got an email with a GOG-code for The Witcher, just hand it over to your girlfriend; she needs to have or make a GOG account to redeem it here.

DeMignon: I think you can't. The Witcher game you get by GOG's offer in Galaxy is for personal use. You can add it to your cart and check it out for free. But you can't gift it afaik.
How sure are you about this? IIRC, a few of these The Witcher codes have been gifted on this board. And I don't think that CDPR would do such a shitty thing.

@javs28 - if, however, what DeMignon says is how things are, then contact GOG Support, explain the situation, and ask them to convert it into a regular bonus code you could give to your girlfriend. No guarantees, but worth a try.

Not 100% sure, since I haven't tried it myself, but I know of somebody having issues to check it out as a gift as well. If you've seen peeps who were able to, then it's either indeed a technical issue or they've changed the terms of the bonus. Either way, contacting support is always a good idea in such cases. They can quickly shed some light on this.

I gifted the free Witcher game that came with Gwent, so it should be possible.
It may be different if you don't have the game on your account (if the OP owns it on Steam say) but as far as I remember I just got emailed a gift code...

I guess that's good news for the OP :-)

If he doesn't own a copy on GOG, he should also be able to get a GOG backup copy of any version via https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup thus being able to gift The Witcher from the Gwent promo.

Just checked my emails, looks like I got a discount code and bought a gift copy with that. It was back in November though, so I suppose they might have changed the policy since then.

I wouldn't have thought so, but it's possible. I'd contact support and see what the issue is, maybe it's just a bad code the OP was sent.
By the way, is it possible to check it out for free directly on gog.com without using Galaxy? Maybe it's a Galaxy issue and it works when using a common browser.

Edit: I see, you got a standard code via email and didn't check it out for free.

As far as I recall I used the website and browser... But I don't really remember.

No no, I got a discount code and had to buy it for free (I have a purchase and gift email from gifting it to myself)

Okay, so it'll be worth a try doing the transaction in a web browser instead of Galaxy, if that was the case in the first place. Maybe that helps.

What are the terms?

Or perhaps just give the discount code to his girlfriend so she can "buy" it herself, and have the game directly added to her account? Should work, unless said discount codes are tied, in some way, to specific accounts.
Hi! Thank you all very much! Im delighted to see such an implicated community helping out! :')

Answering some guesses around, I own my copy of the Witcher in GOG and tried to do the transaction in the web with no results. I will contact support and see what they can tell me. I'll update this when I have some news, in case theres someone with the same problem.

Thanks again!

UPDATE: Support tried to help me with several ways to avoid the error, but it wasnt possible. They didnt have any problem in providing me a code for the Witcher so I could give it that way.
