Kerchatin: What's a good short game you can recommend? :)
avatar
snowkatt: well lilli child of geos is about 2 hours and its not exactly the most difficult game you will ever play

dear esther is 73 minutes of walking forward while listening to pretentious voice overs and its up to the player what they make of the story

crazy taxi and croixleur sigma can both be finished in 15 min or less

i dont know which games you have though

to the moon is around 4 to 6 hours and is said to be excellent
Honestly, I don't have that many short games. I'm an rpg fan, so most of the games I have are generally on the longer side.
I finished Gone Home and The Cat Lady, which are both fairly short (I liked them both).
I have Dear Esther, but haven't played it yet.

I've heard a lot of good things about To the Moon, but don't have it. Been meaning to check it out for a while.
I'll give those other titles you mentioned a go! Thanks. :)

shane-o: I got the CE but used the GOG code from my new graphics card
Ah, cool.
Do you plan on selling the other key, or keeping it, just out of interest?

Kerchatin: what gog game would you like?
well saints row 2 would be cool https://www.gog.com/game/saints_row_2 but that would be a bit much to ask
especially since its twice the price of the humble bundle

i always liked the snes version of this game >>https://www.gog.com/game/star_trek_starfleet_academy
so hopefully the pc version is equally good

and downloading

ta

i plan to buy the bundle tomorrow so ill let you know
I bought the preorder about 5 days ago or so on GOG. I stopped buying games in 2006 up to which point they were all boxed on DVD/CD. I started buying again in 2012 from GOG and then Steam and have only bought digital download games since.

It's kind of funny because before I used to hate the idea of digital downloads because I wanted to hold the box, get the paper manual and other crap in the box and it felt good to hold a physical object that I know is mine. But now I feel completely different. Now I look at physical game boxes, DVDs, manuals and other stuff that would come in a game box as "even more physical world clutter to trip over" and want less of that in my life. Now I prefer manuals and other documents to be PDFs or images, maps to be images, etc. It's funny how a few years can change one's perspective and preferences like that.

Having said that, I don't think I'd ever consider buying a game in a box on a plastic disk or whatever again as I just see them as a disadvantage now personally for my own desires. :)

Kerchatin: So, I'm just curious how many people bought TW3 on GOG vs the physical edition. I realise that this being the GOG forums, the majority will likely have purchased the digital GOG version, but considering that the physical version does come with a GOG key, this might change things up a bit.
(or did you get the game on Steam?)

Personally, I got a physical copy, because I'm a sucker for pointless dust collectors. ;)
GOG, cause I'm cheap (and broke... based credit card) and wanted to support DRM-free.

Digital is so much easier to take care of as well. Moving, living with others, or having pets makes it real easy for shit to get destroyed.
