Darvond: Early reviews stated that if you had to reload the level for any reason, the game state would A: Kick you back to start and B: Do all sorts of strange things to the progression.
Yeah, that sounds like that issue came from the above-mentioned utterly atrocious save system that plagued the early builds. If I remember correctly, the game would save the following things: The map you're on, the stuff you have in your inventory. EVERYTHING else (including enemies, loot, etc) would be reset. Thankfully, this is no longer the case.

Darvond: Descriptions of the early levels appeared to be too focused on this new physics engine, devolving much of the early play down to 3D Sokobon. Place box here, get new box. Hope boxes don't fall apart for no apparent reason. Repeat. And in my books, sokobon puzzles are Sokobanned.
I don't remember much in the way of crate stacking puzzles. It does have an abundance of fire-related puzzles.
