Keep an eye out for these localized game versions that just hit our catalog.

Throughout the years, many of the games that are part of GOG.com have seen localized releases and we ventured to collect many of them with the help of our dedicated community and a thorough search through our master archives. Today, 21 games featuring some of these elusive releases enter our wonderful, digitized catalog.

Learning a foreign language is no easy task, although games have been known to expedite the process. And hunting down localized versions comes with its own challenges but we are not ones to give up easily. Besides, we were not alone in this noble quest. Many of the localized versions on this list come from our personal collections, others we acquired through persistent eBay hunting, but a good number of them were submitted by members of our wonderful multilingual community, that humbled us with their generosity. Let’s take a moment to offer these people a resounding high-five and a warm "thank you" for making this Community Language Pack possible with their contributions.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the extensive list of localized versions, debuting today on GOG.com:

Correction: The French version of Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi was submitted by MaxFulvus. Telika supplied the French manual. We apologize for this error.

A huge thanks to all these people and the team at ScummVM.org for their numerous donations — both physical and digital. Good job, you guys. We may speak different languages, live in different parts of the world, or even enjoy different genres. But we are all gamers, and that's a word that sounds awesome in every language, n'est-ce pas?

Note: These language versions will be getting gradually rolled out today, so don't fret if you don't see your language version right away.

sixsixfive: So you can use user contributed languages but you can not provide/enable already included translations? like: https://www.gog.com/forum/nexus_the_jupiter_incident/multilanguage

weird...
Nexus is being worked on, just trust me on that one :)

JudasIscariot: Nexus is being worked on, just trust me on that one :)
avatar
Grargar: By worked on, are you also referring to the latest patch released 4 days ago?
Exactly that :)
avatar
Tamasuke: Hm when i click on ,,Silver" or ,,Simon3D" i cant see german as an option in the infos. only english.
https://www.gog.com/game/silver
https://www.gog.com/game/simon_the_sorcerer_3d

What i also miss heavily:

The Longest Journey (german)

and

Kings Quest VII (german)
We're rolling out the updates so please hold tight :)

RadonGOG: Very nice!
avatar
JudasIscariot: Exactly that :)

RadonGOG: VERY nice!

BTW: I´ve got a german copy of TempleOfElementalEvil I could gift to you...
Nice try but it won't work....not that we don't want it, no, but the last patch for the game (which is needed if you even want to think about using the Circle of Eight mod) simply overrides any language and changes it to English from what our tech who specializes in making old games work tells me.

Pawel1995: One question to the GoG Translation team: How are the laws to these translations? I have many Games on CD-ROM that are games FULL supporting languages like e.g. polish or german. However on gog, most of these games are English only?! Does that mean, I could send you a .zip file with the pol. sound and textfiles for example, or aren't you allowed to take these original files, just fan translations ?!

Cheers
These aren't fan translations. These are the official translations.

...and one of Ultima IX, if this could help you I´d be glad to hand them over!
As for Ultima IX, I think you are German-speaking person #4 to offer that one :P

RadonGOG: Hmm, this really sounds like a problem...

RadonGOG: Hmm, I guess that it either doesn´t help then or you´ve already got one, but it´s not ready to be uploaded jet...
Well, the English version of Ultima IX required a metric ton of work in order for us to even think about selling it so the same goes for the German version of Ultima IX.

Treasure: Honest question: Was a Greek version ever released for most videogames in the 1st place? I recall Deponia from the top of my head as having Greek subtitles, but not many more games have such an option.
There have been several PC games with Greek subtitles available, throughout the years. Off the top of my head: Scratches, The Abbey, and Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals definitely had that option.
Also one or more games from the Atlantis series, perhaps no.3, and a couple of other Cryo games like Egypt and Odyssey: The Search for Ulysses, if I recall correctly.

There have been others, too, but memory is a bit fuzzy right now. Too much Samorost 3, not enough sleep :/

GOG.com: n'est pas?

mrkgnao: I think something's missing here, n'est-ce pas?
I knew skipping French classes to hit the Arcade would come back and haunt me, eventually... Ah, c'est la vie, non?

Xabyer_B: Where Can I send the official translations?. I've got a lot of them, but I don't know how to send you.
Send me a friend request and we can talk :)

IDPLAY: Aren't many translations license problems?
Yes, it's mostly due to that .
avatar
KurakDarcia: That's some great news, guys!

Many thanks for the Polish localization of Gothic! ^^
Yes, that one was of particular importance to us since we had Poles from everywhere randomly asking us either via Facebook or twitter or Support for the PL version of Gothic :D
avatar
RevelatorITA: thanks and please ad more italian translations ;-)
We try but they tend to be rare. Case in point, The Feeble Files and Realms of the Haunting, I think those were the only coppies on eBay...ever :)
avatar
abr_alex: Don't forget Russian language please, GOG :)
Don't worry, we haven't :)

As for everyone else:

All of the games in the newspost now have all of their offline installers added for every supported language. With that in mind, this roll out is complete.

In case something is missing, feel free to PM me if you're missing an installer or a language isn't showing up where it should :)

MaxFulvus: Good news, but I'm surprise to not be mentioned in the donors list. I sent you my french version of Nosferatu Wrath of Malachi in April 2015. Then, black-out until now.
You told me that Telika submitted you only the manual, not also the game.
Not a drama, but a clarification is necessary, in my opinion.
Ah my apologies :) It's been a while. Let me see what I can do on my end to get this corrected :)

edit: and fixed. Once again, my apologies for that slip up.

Xabyer_B: Thanks. I add several of them to my wishlist.

Where can I report translations to be added?
Could you, temporarily, set your privacy settings to "Chat with friends only" ? Can't get in contact with you via PM...
