Just spotted it while I was randomly browsing Greenlight. The story/settings could bring some heat on Internet forums in the upcoming days (marketing stunt again?)

The greenlight page:

For those wo don't wanna click, copy/paste of the description:

„IS Defense” is a game set in politically-fictional 2020 – where the
expansion of ISIS went out of hand. They took over all of Northern Africa,
spreading their genocidal understanding of the world’s order. Strongly
armed, vast in numbers and prepared for everything, the Islamic State is
launching the invasion upon Europe, over the entire Mediterranean Sea.

The player takes the role of NATO’s stationary machine-gun operator,
deployed to defend the shores of Europe. His task is to blast as many of
the invaders as possible, until his glorious death. To do so, he has NATO
support forces, his Machinegun and Rocket Launcher at his disposal. During the progress of this heroic defense, he gets the opportunities to upgrade his gear, his body and army rank – which affects the efficiency of the called support.

This game is our small side-project and is our personal veto against what
is happening in the Middle East nowadays. As well as an attempt at
resurrecting a pretty dead genre of games like „Operation Wolf” or
„Beach Head” – in a state of the art, modern adaptation.

EDIT: Due to the overwelming popular demand of one person, I link to the GOG wishlist entry:

EDIT 2: Wanna play a nice, modern and free "inspired by Operation Wolf"? Check out Major Mayhem!

at the risk of sounding like a complete asshole.

this looks 10x better then hatred at the very least.

A game in which you play a soldier killing a bunch of terrorists... sounds like the plot of 80% of FPS and it's not exactly the most controversial one either.

Not sure what they mean by "veto" though.
Another boring game splashed with unnecessary controversy to make it sell?

... except on GOG, where the fact that it's Under Development is what will cause the controversy, and not its story and setting.

Just like Hatred it looks like the type of game that will get real old real quick.

They sure love their pegida masturbatory fantasies.

American McGee's Grimm has me looking at all right wing fundamentalist game devs with an askance and smug eye.

Basically replace ISIS with either Al-Qaeda (Afghanistan) or Saddam Hussein (Iraq) and it just seems like a lot of these shooters released post 9/11...

But guess it's controversial because these politically-correct nuts currently infecting politics apparently love Terrorists (as weird and irrational as it may sound, but on the other hand, rational thinking never was their forte)

As an anti-fascist and a Jew, I find people of this ilk far more dangerous to western values than the Islamic State.

EDIT: I laugh at your downvotes. But keep fearing the people that can barely touch the west. https://twitter.com/AFP/status/696809154359533570

It's not really about the game in itself (as some people pointed out, it could get quickly boring, I even tought it was a mobile port at first) but rather how much it can generate comments (the Greenlight ones are already a preview......)
Problem is people are going to compare it to Hatred, and say its against Muslims, but considering that we are looking at this possibly being our future....

I dont get people like I agree Hatred was bullshit, but at least this is at least plausible try-hard.

still think it looks 10x better then hatred. I wont vote for it, and I hope it does not come here to GOG, but I still represents 10x more effort then Hatred had, weather or not that effort is good.....well we know its not but still hey! effort!
I mean, isn't it the plot of Modern Warfare with russian swapped for IS? And it sounds like a rail shooter or wors still a first person tower defence.

Yeah, these Politically-Correct crazies have totally lost it.

And anyone who doesn't blindly agree and self-flagelate gets wrongly accused of being a nazi / racist / bigot / etc... despite it being them who act the most like said Nazis did in the past (but apparently as long as it's them doing it, it's alright, even when considering things like genocide and slavery).

More on topic: The game just seems rather bland, but guess it will mainly sell because of controversy (rather than it's own merit).
