freebooter1958: I have not signed on for sometime and the site has changed, but with the changes my games have vanished I purchased. Has anyone else had this problem. I bought both games way back of Desperado. Has any other people had games vanish from your account?
Hi freebooter1958, there is no trace of any order of Desperados 2 on your account, so we suspect it was purchased on another one.
Please reply to our last message with any info you might have about that second account, like a possible e-mail address or username used for its creation, so we can search for it. We are unable to find it without any additional information from you.
I hope that's not the case. Would be a darn shame if this was a case of someone being to high and mighty to keep records of purchases of such insignificant things as actual and non-fictitious purchases. Brain farts don't fart themselves.

Since he's been here since may 2012, shy is probably more accurate than new.

I thought that was SStefania. Do they recycle the blue accounts? Was the other thread true after all????

freebooter1958: Well put it this way I won't be purchasing anymore games. Will just turn it keep what I have. Go back to tangible cd type games, playstation,Xbox, or others. Thank you all for your help. I don't keep history of all these purchases for a $4.99 game. I may keep my income tax records, but that is a way more serious situation. I just move on. Thank you all for your help......
That's your choice of course. You're upset because you can't find your game to download, that's understandable. Anyone would be perhaps a little irked over that, completely natural. Instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater though and blaming it on GOG trying to screw you over or something like that - why not instead assume that nobody is screwing anyone over and try to find a working solution instead?

It is extremely unlikely that GOG has removed a game you've bought from your game shelf and completely annihilated it from your purchase history as well. If that were the case, then you'd pretty much be the first person for this to ever happen to.

Instead, if you listen to what we are saying to try to help you - is that you most likely have purchased the game(s) under a different account and simply forgot about it. We say this because it is the most plausible explanation, and because there have been numerous people come along in the forums in the past exactly like you claiming they had a game missing from their shelf and being all upset with GOG about it. Only after being patient and talking to GOG support and looking into it they have discovered that they bought the game they were thinking about under a completely different account that they forgot about over time. Hey, time passes and if we don't log into a site like this every day or regularly enough we can forget things and make mistakes, we're all human. Even if we are very sure that we didn't, we can find out with investigation that - oops, yeah - we did.

Everyone here has tried to pretty much provide guidance toward helping you find a solution including talking to GOG support, and now GOG support has come here in the forums as well to try to offer assistance. Why not work with everyone and with GOG to try to get what it is that you want out of all of this?

If you run off in a rage angry with GOG about it, all you accomplish is that you'll probably never get your game, and you yourself end up missing out on all that GOG has to offer here at their great service. That's your loss if you choose to do that, but an unfortunate one that could potentially be avoided with a bit of patience and working together. We've helped many people sort problems out this way in the past, why not join the club and be one of them.

I dunno about others, but I'd love to see you get your games back and post back to us "Oh shit, I forgot I made an account xyzabcdef before because of $reason and totally forgot about that, sorry guys. Glad to have got my game back though and thanks for your help!

tinyE: He had my sympathy until that last post.
Ditto. Now he is starting to sound a bit like the user who wanted to sue GOG and refused to tell us his/her old username. I tried searching for that infamous thread but couldn't find it.

Did you check your email account? Have you specifically deleted the email receipts from GOG, or doesn't your email account keep so old emails anymore?

So you don't necessarily have to "keep history of all these purchases"... just don't delete receipts (from any store), that's all.

Yeah I guess most email providers probably autodelete some very old emails, but at least for me when I check the oldest emails I have on one free email account, I seem to have old emails at least from early 2004 or so, which is probably when I actually created that account.

And then of course if you have abandoned your old email account for some reason, in that case you'd have to archive any (semi-)important emails yourself... Anyway, if even GOG can't find any Desperados 2 transaction on your current account, what can I say?
It is theoretically possible that a game disappears from someone's GOG account... but I think it would probably fall into these two categories:

1. The game (key) was not purchased from GOG, but from some dubious site like G2A, and GOG revoked the game after finding out it was e.g. originally bought with a stolen credit card or something, and then the key was sold second-hand to the current person. But you said the game was bought from GOG so this is out of question.

2. There have been a few cases where a game has disappeared temporarily from people's accounts when GOG has e.g. had to pull the game from the store (ie. GOG can't sell the game anymore). People who have already purchased can keep their purchases though, so this has been a glitch that GOG has fixed later. I recall e.g. 2 years ago or so when Fallout kept disappearing and reappearing in people's accounts for some reason, some recurring glitch.

However, in these latter cases the game(s) go missing for all GOG users, not just one user. So I guess this was not the case here either, because no one else has reported this issue. I have Desperados 2 fine in my account, no problems.

Thanks non-scaredy-cat. :)

Why must it be so difficult googling specific forum threads? It often yields no positive results even though I write site:gog.com and only use correctly spelled keywords.

No, I have only one account. Who said any thing about rage? That is a pretty simplistic response and in my opinion offensive to portray someone like that. The reality as a customer, consumer, as far as GOG, I am done with purchases, no rage, just not going to deal with them it was a low dollar purchase. SO I found out cheap what type of organization that GOG is. Plain and simple. I will keep the games I have an not make any further purchases. The whole site was changed, so something fell thru the cracks. I have talked to GOG and they have pretty much discarded the whole situation. So l too will discard any future business. No rage, no problem, a realistic solution when a person, or business is untrustworthy..
When the site changed, a Witcher 2 giftcode I had left in my account but didn't save elsewhere fell through the cracks as well and has completely vanished, so I think it's quite possible that it's gone and that would be unfortunate.
Another game (11th Hour) vanished from my account shortly afterwards as well but could be restored without problems.

Things have become more stable since then, but I'm glad that I did put attention to the site at the beginning of "The Grey Era".
