They can't take down my PS3 Disc version, let's hope they don't erased the footage, that things are copyrighted?

InkPanther: URL in your link is missing "/" after 874.
Thank you, fixed. It was unintentional, I have no idea why GOG forum engine convert URL address with "/" outside.

KetobaK: It's back I think, yesterday wasn't available, but now it is.
Thank you, I think it was a false alarm then, given the recent delisting thread about Bedlam on general forum page.

Crosmando: The PC port of MGS2 is one of the worst ports of a video game ever made. You'd have to be insane to get it instead of just getting the HD Collection on PS3/4/5.
I don't think it's anywhere as bad as say Deadly Premonition: DC on PC. Locked at 720p (out-the-box); random crashes; possible memory leak bug; performance issues here and there - yeah, what a mess.

Just typical Japanese PC port. Good thing it's not 480p because 720p is more like 2021 thing (latest PES).

Don't have PS3/4/5. But I do have original MGS2 for PS2.
What is this historical footage issue and is this why there were a ton of posts calling for Metal Gear to be released on PC?

Metal Gear is making me strongly consider getting a PS3. Can get most of the games with the HD collection as well as rising. Thanks to Konami, cant get it for PC.

I wonder why the heck legal entity can't license the IP rights for one particular game till the *end of times* with the obligation to pay royalty from every sold copy to the owner till the *end of times*. With that approach we would already have so many car driving games, games based on comics and movies and so on, and the owners of their music, trademarks and other IP would constantly receive additional income. This world is SO stupid!

Metal Gear's father, Hideo Kojima would have been a movie director in another life. It would appear he licensed historical footage for use in MGS2 & 3's cinematics.

A PS3 is an excellent choice for playing the Metal Gear series. MGS4 is still exclusive to it and there is wonderful collection with MG, MG2, MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, & Peace Walker for pretty cheap, in North America at least.

Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection:

MGS5 is probably better on PC or PS4/ Xbox One but the PS3 is also an option.

Kojima does love his movies and did sort of start the trend of video game directors who actually wanted to be movie directors.

Yeah I do think PS3 might be the best system to experience metal gear. Collection gives most of the games (only missing portable and acids but those are basically non-canon). PS3 also has Red Dead Redemption which doesnt seem to be getting a PC release which sweetens the deal as well. There seem to be quite a few PS3 games that never made it to PC or are remade.

and wonky joystick controls where up and down moves from side to side.
This is not a drill, the game is going to be delisted on 15 Nov, 8 AM UTC

Good thing that we know it with a couple of days in advance before delisting (big thanks for Cadaver for creating this topic).

I personally bought it some time ago (curse my shopping addiction), but still, it feels nice that people interested in the game will be able to buy it before delisting.

Regarding MGS 5 i was actually surprised at how good the Xbox 360 / PS3 versions are.

It also feels nice that Konami made clear they don't want to delist it permanently but just to renew the licenses. I hate it when companies just remove the games and are like "oh well ..." and never bother selling them again.
